Arsenal fans tore Arsene Wenger to shreds as Alexandre Lacazette was dropped to the bench for the side’s humiliating 4-0 defeat at Liverpool.

Despite Lacazette joining the Gunners for a club-record fee of £52million this summer, Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez started ahead of the 26-year-old France striker at Anfield.

The ex-Lyon man did come on for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the 62nd minute of the clash but goals from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah meant Arsenal’s fate was already sealed.

Lacazette scored with his first ever shot in the Premier League during Arsenal’s dramatic 4-3 win over Leicester City on the opening day and he showed his killer instinct yet again in France training, just days after the snub at Liverpool.

The forward effortlessly dinked a shot over Steve Mandanda’s head as France prepared for a crucial World Cup qualifier against the Netherlands at their training camp in Clairefontaine.

Didier Deschamps’ side face the Netherlands at the Stade de France before hosting Luxembourg at the Stadium Municipal in Toulouse.

Lacazette will be hopeful of featuring despite strong competition in the squad from the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud.
