Marco Verratti has warned Julian Draxler that he runs the risk of being on the bench if he decides to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal have reportedly approached PSG about the Germany international’s availability and have been asked to be kept informed ahead of Thursday evening’s transfer deadline.

Draxler made an immediate impact at PSG following his move from Schalke in January but following Neymar’s world-record move from Barcelona, the midfielder has yet to start a league game this season.

And Verratti admits his team-mate could face long spells as a substitute due to the competition for places at the club.

‘There are a lot of us and there are players who would be regulars anywhere else, such as Julian – who is one of the best players I have ever played with – who risk finding themselves on the bench,’ Verratti told Gazzetta dello Sport.

‘Everybody is going to be needed, though, and I am pleased I stayed.’
