Alan Shearer couldn’t resist a joke at Jose Mourinho’s expense in the changing room before the Game for Grenfell match.
The Premier League’s all-time record goalscorer is managing one of the teams for the game at Loftus Road, while Mourinho has surprisingly signed up as a player.
The Manchester United boss was warming up as a goalkeeper but as Shearer’s squad were making their final preparations for the game, the striker had a little swipe at the 54-year-old.
‘Last night, when I heard the greatest manager ever was going to join us,’ the former England striker announced to his players.
‘I’ve got to apologise – Sir Alex [Ferguson] isn’t here.
‘But you’ve got the second greatest manager ever.’
Luckily, Mourinho appeared to take the joke in good humour while his new team-mates were in stitches.
