Alvaro Morata displayed great pace and movement for Spain’s third goal versus Italy

Alvaro Morata sent a message to Chelsea boss Antonio Conte with a brilliant goal for Spain in a comprehensive 3-0 defeat of Italy in World Cup qualifying.

Real Madrid midfielder Isco was the star of the show in the Group G clash, with a brace in the first-half, and Morata put the icing on the cake with a sublime goal in the 77th minute after coming off the bench.

Morata, who completed a move to Stamford Bridge for an initial fee of £58million back in July, has scored two goals in four appearances for the Blues this season.

Chelsea manager Conte has admitted the striker is still working his way back to full fitness but he made an immediate impact after replacing Andres Iniesta at the Bernabeu.

Morata’s movement for his second-half goal will undoubtedly please Conte as he escaped former Juventus team-mates Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli before finding the net.

The forward laid the ball off to a rampaging Sergio Ramos to lose Bonucci before beating Barzagli at the back post an impressive burst of speed.

Chelsea fans will no doubt be hoping for more of the same from Morata when they travel to Leicester this weekend.
