Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has moved to reassure the club’s fans that Alexis Sanchez will continue to give it his all in a Gunners shirt this season.

The Chile international came close to leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer amid interest from Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

In the end, however, Arsenal blocked their star player’s departure from the club after failing to sign a replacement on deadline day – a decision met with a mixed response from fans and pundits alike.

Bellerin, however, is not concerned that Sanchez’s performances for Arsenal could be affected by the long-running transfer saga.

The 28-year-old hasn’t featured regularly yet this season after returning late to pre-season, but Bellerin believes he’s already seen enough from the player to put fans’ minds at ease.

‘Alexis is 100 per cent focused on Arsenal,’ Bellerin told the International Business Times.

‘He didn’t start (against Bournemouth) after returning from international duty.

‘But when he came on he has proved that he is 100 per cent and is going to be in every game.’

Arsenal begin their Europa League journey this week before taking on rivals Chelsea in an early-season six-pointer at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Sanchez is unlikely to play a big part in Thursday night’s game against FC Cologne with a view to making it back into the starting XI for the Chelsea game.
