Epic Games: Fortnite PS4, Xbox One cross-play has now been ‘corrected’

ps4 xbox one cross play

Over the weekend, we reported on a rather juicy tidbit that Fortnite on PlayStation 4 had cross-play with Xbox One gamers. That meant that PS4 players can and was being matched up to Xbox One players, which was something Sony wasn’t really a fan of if certain developers were to be believed.

Now, in a statement sent to PSU, an Epic Games rep has mentioned that there was a "configuration" issue, but it’s now "corrected."

"We had a configuration issue and it has now been corrected."

By "corrected," we assume they meant that the PS4 and Xbox One cross-play feature for Fortnite has been taken out. Given how one studio said that it would take just "days" to implement this, it’s not surprising it’s that easy to turn it off, too.

Will we see it switched on again? More importantly, will Sony cave in at some point in the future? We’ll let you know if we hear anything new.
