Nemanja Matic has jokingly lifted the lid on Jose Mourinho’s secret note during Manchester United’s win over Chelsea on Sunday.

In the final stages of the match at Old Trafford, Mourinho made the decision to bring on Eric Bailly to solidify United’s defence.

But the Ivorian centre-back was handed a note from Mourinho on the touchline and the first thing he did when he made his entrance was to pass the message on to Matic.

Matic attempts to read the note were disturbed by Willian, who tried getting a quick peak of the note and began chasing the United midfielder.

The Serb managed to escape his former Chelsea teammate and presumably understood Mourinho’s tactical instructions as United managed to see out the win.

And on Monday, Matic posted an update on Instagram to jokingly reveal what Mourinho’s message was.

Matic’s note read: ‘You have three days off.’

United are not in action until next Monday where they will play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The win over Chelsea was a vital one for Mourinho’s side, who have overtaken Liverpool to reclaim second place.
