A M.A.S.K. Movie Franchise By Paramount And Hasbro Is In The Works!

Fancy fast cars that can defy gravity, and do amazing things? That’s nothing new to Fast & Furious 8 director, F. Gary Gray, so it’s no surprise that Paramount has approached him to helm a M.A.S.K. film adaptation, based on the 1980s Kenner cartoon and toy series.

M.A.S.K. is an acronym for Mobile Armored Strike Kommand, a task force led by Matt Trakker whose goal is to take out the criminal organization VENOM, a.k.a. the Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem (ah the nostalgia!). The toy franchise ran for 3 years back in the day, and spawned an animated TV series, comics and computer games.

Back in 2015, we reported that Hasbro was bringing M.A.S.K. back, but it all went quiet since. M.A.S.K. will now join the slew of films Hasbro had already brought to the big screen, including Transformers (but of course), Ouija, G.I. Joe and the one-off Battleship.

While it looks like Vin Diesel can make a great Alex Sector, Paramount, please don’t. And if you even think of Shia LeBeouf as young Scott Trakker, you might as well pack up and go home.

As we wait for a script and more news on the movie, and the inevitable toy range, enjoy this piece of nostalgia that is the intro sequence for the 80s TV series.
