Didier Drogba not interested in £20m move to Manchester City as Chelsea striker looks forward to exciting Premier League battle

By Sportsmail Reporter

Didier Drogba has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Manchester City.

City were reported to be lining up a £20million bid for the Chelsea star but last season's Premier League top scorer has no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge.

He said: 'Every summer there is speculation, you saw me in a Chelsea shirt on Sunday (in the Community Shield) and I think that is how you will see me all season.'

Drogba is relishing the opportunity to defend the Double Chelsea won last season although the Ivory Coast international expects City to challenge at the summit after signing Yaya Toure, David Silva, Aleksandar Kolarov and Jerome Boateng.

He added: 'We saw last year that Tottenham were there fighting for fourth place. Arsenal were there, so the league will be more open, with Manchester City spending more money and buying quality players.'

Drogba was doubtful for the start of the campaign after a hernia operation but the 32-year-old is fighting fit and raring to go.

He said: 'For the last six years I was struggling and it was difficult sometimes. I had to miss some training sessions but I am really happy because it's done and it is really good for me.

'I learned how to play with it, and now maybe I will have to change my game again.'
