Can anybody see Barcelona not winning this match? Is it even possible? We all know that anything can happen in football but it just seems to be more than improbable that there is any hope of Hercules possible taking away one point. Barcelona are the champions and their opponents are newly promoted and favourites to return straight back to where they came from.
David Villa is the man to watch as he was on sensational form at the World Cup and hasn’t been too shabby since the start of La Liga, getting off the mark against Racing Santander. And considering the fact that Ibrahimovic has left for Italy, Barcelona will be relying on Villa’s input even more than what was expected.
The best hope for the away side is that new signings Trezegeut and Drenthe can muster up some magic between the two of them. Still despite all that it might be worth putting a bet on them just in case they miraculously manage a win, the odds certainly make it worth looking at.
Valencia vs Racing Santander
Racing have been a bit of a bogey team for Spain’s best of the rest Valencia, the home side have had some unfortunate results in the last few years, last year this fixture resulted in a 0-0 draw with the opposing fixture ending 4-2 in the favour of Racing.
Racing have lost Tchite to Standard Liege and this has resulted in some limited striking prospects for Santander who are not well known for their high goal tally’s to begin with.
Racing are coming off the back of a defeat to Barca, but it isn’t as if that is anything to be ashamed of or even that the performance they put in there will be in any way representative of what can be expected from this match. On paper Valencia are by far the better team; however, judging by the way these matches have gone in the past this match could go either way.
Real Madrid vs Osasuna
Real Madrid have not got off to a flying start and as such they are already playing catch-up with Barcelona, judging by how close the last season was, that result could cost them the title again.
It seems harsh to say one slip up so early in the season could mean the end of their chances, but every single point counts in this League and that was a costly mistake. Real are going to suffer from the absence of Ronaldo although Osasuna aren’t likely to be much of a threat regardless.
Osasuna only managed a goalless draw against Almeria in their opening game; these two teams are only in the same league by technicality.
