David Silva Will Be a Success In The Premier League

Manchester City bought the technically gifted player during the summer transfer window in 2010. Since his purchase , critics have been pointing out that due to his small frame , he wont be able to adapt to the Premier League due to the physical nature of the competition.However , as he himself pointed out to reporters after Manchester City's match against Salzburg on Thursday “You cannot just judge a player by their size. You have to look at their qualities, too."

And that is exactly the aspect with which he will prove his doubters wrong and silence his critics.Silva is one of Spain's hottest rising young star and is considered to be an integral part of the Spanish national team.And one could see the reason why by taking a look at his performance Manchester City's match against Salzburg on Thursday.With Silva starting his first competitive game , Manchester City didn't look the same as they did when they played Blackburn. There were penetrating runs, successful through balls, dangerous attacks, one-touch football, and two good goals to finish it all off.And Silva was always in the right place at the right time and made some great passes and some amazing runs forward. His ability to execute the right pass at the right time was there for all to see.Add to this the fact that he had two good chances at goal , one of which he converted , one can already say that he is adapting to life at Manchester City well.

Now one might argue that the Europa league games are played at a slower tempo as compared to the Premier League .I would like to ask those people to take a look at the Blackburn game , where Silva made a substitute appearance towards the end of the game.He showed glimpses of the same world class abilities he displayed at Salzburg.In my opinion , if he had been introduced earlier and allowed to settle into the rhythm of the game , Manchester City would have gone on to win the match.

And once Silva settles into life at the Premier League and gets into rhythm , he will be one of the best playmakers the premier league has ever seen.To quote his own words , "I'm confident I can be a success in English football. As I have said all along, I just need time."
