Wenger gives Gunners captain 'small chance' of being fit

Arsene Wenger admits Cesc Fabregas and Abou Diaby are unlikely to be fit for Arsenal's trip to Manchester United next week. Fabregas has been sidelined for the past fortnight after the Arsenal captain picked up a hamstring injury in the UEFA Champions League defeat at Braga. The midfielder had targeted a return to action for next Monday's top-of-the-table clash at title rivals United, but Wenger doubts the Spaniard will be ready. The World Cup winner did train on Tuesday, but Wenger believes there is only a 'small chance' that Fabregas will be available at Old Trafford. "He was out to practise today," said the Arsenal boss on Tuesday at his press conference ahead of the game against Partizan Belgrade. "He has a small chance to play on Monday. That means it is a bit under 50 per cent at the moment." Wenger also acknowledged that Fabregas' fellow midfielder Diaby, who has been out since mid-October, is unlikely to return against United. He added: "Diaby is out practising as well with him. He has a very small chance."
