With Edin Dzeko Now a "Done Deal", Who Is Next For City?

It seems that Manchester City are about to seal another bargain by signing Edin Dzeko at only £27m.

Yes, I know that's a lot of money, but when you consider the world and his wife (but not me, in my last piece on Dzeko I put a price of £30m) was talking about £45m plus being needed to turn Wolfsburg's head, £27m is a good deal for City.

So with that deal out of the way, will City bring any more player(s) in?

I suspect that City won't do that much business, but perhaps Dzeko will be the cheapest addition this January.

The next most likely player for City is David Luiz of Benfica.

Roberto Mancini has spoken in glowing terms of the young defender and sees him as a future great, but what is the price for future greatness?

If I were a betting man, I would suggest that a price close to that paid for Dzeko, perhaps marginally more, at £29m.

But there are also some rumours of a third signing in play.

Conversations are, according to some, already taking place, which could mean a massive fee of over £50m paid for whom?

Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon Al Mubarak are still keen, but not desperate, to make a real statement in the transfer market. If the rumours are true, then we may see a real coup sooner rather than later.

But who that player is remains a mystery.
