Having made his comeback from a calf injury in Liverpool's 2-1 win over Bolton at the weekend, the Danish international will no doubt be hoping his inclusion will be followed up with a place in the squad for tonight's clash with Blackburn.

Agger appreciates that he has only just returned to first-team football and as such insists he is not issuing his manager with an ultimatum but is eager for more opportunities as Liverpool look to get their season back on track.

“If I’m not playing in the Liverpool team on a regular basis then I am ready to move on,” Agger told the Mail. “I have only just returned from three months out injured so I am in no position at the moment to say I must be in the side for every game.

“But once I have made a few appearances and regained full fitness, I would expect to be starting games. If I’m not playing, I can’t see a reason for staying.

"I still have three years left on my contract with Liverpool but it's not me who decides if I'm playing.

"I now have a certain age and I feel I have the level to play at this club. So if I'm not going to play and I'm on the bench for a while, obviously I'm not interested in being here. Then I must see what options I have."

Agger has been heavily linked with a move to Italian side Juventus this month – rumours Hodgson moved quickly to deny.

Asked if he had been informed of any intention Liverpool have to let him go, he said: "I have the attitude that if anyone wants to get rid of me and they are doing something on my behalf, I really expect that you'd walk up to me and say it to my face.

"If not, I don't believe it, but that's the world of football and you just have to accept that."
