Magpies see £10m bid for Latics winger rejected

Sky Sports News understands Newcastle have had a late £10million bid turned down for ex-Toon winger Charles N'Zogbia by Wigan. The Magpies are seemingly keen to strengthen their attacking options with star striker Andy Carroll on the brink of a £35million move to Liverpool. But the Latics have barred their advance to bring highly-rated Frenchman N'Zogbia, who has been courted by a number of clubs during this month's transfer window, back to St James' Park. The spurned offer reiterates the club's stance on the 24-year-old's future at the DW Stadium after manager Roberto Martinez stressed on Sunday he was completely committed to Wigan. Once-capped France international N'Zogbia began his senior career with Newcastle back in 2004, spending five seasons at the Tyneside club before joining the Latics.
