Speculations have begun about potential signings for Arsenal Football Club this summer. The Manager has been given a £40 million transfer kitty, and Wenger stated that some additions will take place during the transfer market.

Is this going to be the most exciting transfer market for Gunners' fans?

Here is a list of players linked to Arsenal that could well make the trip to North London soon....

Goalkeeper

With Arsenal conceding way too many goals this season, the priority has to be the back four and the goalkeeper.

Although Arsenal's young Pole Szczesny has proved he is a good goalkeeper, Arsenal should still bring in a top class goalkeeper.

After a dazzling performance against Manchester United, many are looking at Manuel Neuer as the best goalkeeper in the world.

The German number one could be perfect for Arsenal if they want to send a strong message to the rest of the world. Arsenal have never really replaced Seaman with a top class keeper, and Neuer could fit the bill.

But will the price be too much? Many papers are saying he would cost anything between £20 to 40 million. Ouch!

Bayern Munich have already made it clear they want Neuer, but they say they do not expect to spend big.

I think anything between £15 to 20 million is decent price for the goalkeeper.

Other Goalkeepers linked to Arsenal have been Hugo Lloris and Pepe Reina. Both are world class keepers who could do the job for Arsene Wenger. But if the boss is worried about price, then he could snap a bargain for Shay Given.

Defenders

In defence, Arsenal have been heavily linked with England player Gary Cahill. He is strong and commanding in the air. But Bolton stated they wanted £25 million for their centre back, a price that could put anyone off. However, that was the last transfer window; the price could be down to £15 million for Cahill.

But if Arsene Wenger wants a bargain this summer, then he should keep an eye on the Philip Mexes situation. The French defender could be free this summer, and he would be ideal to compliment Vermaelen.

Midfield

The Arsenal midfield is not so bad. They only need one strong, physical presence in there, and that would do it for them.

Someone like Yaya Toure would have been perfect for the Gunners, but instead, he went to Manchester City when they splashed the cash.

If Arsenal could snap up a player to sit in front of the defenders with Song, that would be ideal. Scott Parker would be an ideal candidate. He is full of heart, strong and is not afraid to go into a challenge.

Parker is a natural leader and will shout at people on the pitch. Arsenal need some vocal players when it gets tough. If West Ham go down, clubs will be lining up for his signature.

Ashley Young has made it clear he wants to play for one of the top four. I think he would be ideal for Arsenal. He can play on the left, right and behind the strikers. Unlike the other Arsenal players who like to come inside, Young is a genuine winger who will get to the by-line and cross the ball. Sometimes in matches, Arsenal lack width unless Sagna and Clichy support them in attack.

Young would be good but maybe too pricey!

Strikers

I did not think Arsenal needed a new forward, as the Gunners do create chances and score goals at free will. But recently, I noticed that Van Persie is isolated on his own and needs someone to stay in the box. Sometimes the Holland international likes to drift in various positions; Arsenal need a box to box man.

And there is a player that seems perfect for the Gunners....Porto's No. 9, Falcao. The Colombian forward scored four goals against Villareal during the week. All of them were poacher's goal and two very good headers. He looks to be the ideal man to replace Eduardo.

Maybe it's time for Arsenal to go back to 4-4-2 and play with two strikers. Rumours lately suggest that Arsenal will launch a £22.5 millions bid for Karim Benzema. If that turns out to be true, then Arsenal will have a strike force to send shivers down defenders' spines.

But the reality is Arsenal only have £40 million to spend, and this needs to be used wisely to bring in the most effective ready made players.

    Potential sells:

    Denilson- £5 to 7 mil

    Vela- £5 to 7 mil

    Squillaci- Anything

    Eboue- £5 to 7 mil
