Juventus in Pink: Why It May Just Bring Success Back to Turin

Juventus have unveiled their complete 2011/2012 kit, and whilst the home jersey is the black and white stripes of the Old Lady, the Bianconeri have resorted to the past for the inspiration of their new away kit.
Yes, Juventus will once again be gracing the pitch in their famous pink away strip.
The new shirt is a darker pink than usually worn by Juventus and has a navy blue star imposed on the front. The kit certainly is certainly striking from a distance, but other than the aesthetics of the kit there are a few statistics associated with the pink jersey that may suggest that Juventus can go all the way or at least improve on where they are now!
Let us take a look at the past few times Juventus wore a pink away strip:
Juventus 1997-1998: Arguably one of the most successful seasons in Juventus' history. In 1997/1998 Juventus were graced with the likes of Zidane, Inzaghi, Del Piero and even current coach Antonio Conte (player). That season Juventus won the Serie A and the Italian Supercoppa, as well as qualifying for the final of the Champions League (lost 1-0 to Madrid) and the Semi finals of the Coppa Italia.
Juventus 2003/2004: In 2003/2004 Juventus failed to defend their Serie A title from the previous year. In fact, they finished third, made the round of 16 in the Champions League and the final of the Coppa Italia, though they did manage to win a trophy—the Supercoppa. Probably not the best of times at Juventus, but I am sure the current Juventus would have much rather finished in the positions of the 2003/2004 Juventus.
Judging by the statistics of previous years, Juventus should at least win a trophy and qualify for the Champions League whilst wearing the pink away kit. Obviously, the telling factor will be the players, and with a host of new signings the Bianconeri may just be able to mount a challenge for the title in Italy. A bit of superstition might just lift the hopes of the tifosi heading into 2011/2012.
