ESPN Soccernet report Heurelho Gomes will leave Tottenham in January, as he seeks to win a place in the Brazil squad for the 2014 World Cup.

Brad Friedel is now Spurs' first-choice goalkeeper, with Carlo Cudicini seemingly second in the pecking order and Gomes third.

I would think he won't be happy. He wants to play at the World Cup [in 2014] with Brazil, so it's going to be a problem. We'll wait until the next window and see where that takes us. - Spurs manager Harry Redknapp

Diego Maradona Dismisses Anelka Gossip

6 of 6

Diego Maradona has refuted claims that Al Wasl, the side he manages in the UAE, are interested in signing Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka. Here's what he said...

I am really surprised to hear this. We don't have anything to do with Anelka.

Of course, I wish that he would come and play for us at Al Wasl, but knowing the wages he gets at Chelsea, I don't think it is ever going to be possible.

I also believe he is a pillar of the Chelsea team and I don't think they will allow him to leave. - Maradona
