Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 11: Tips and Transfers

Fantasy managers will be looking forward to another high-scoring game-week after registering mammoth scores in game-week 10.

Robin van Persie is in the form of his life, and scored an astonishing 19 points against Chelsea last week. Not so surprisingly, he's one of the most transferred in players, and considering his form and the fixture list of Arsenal, van Persie is a must in your team.

Rafael Van der Vaart is another player you should include in your team, as he has scored six goals and 14 bonus points in his last five Premier League games, which is incredible return for a midfielder.

His price is escalating rapidly, so now is the time to make this decisive transfer into you team to score a bucket-full of points over the next few game-weeks.

Tottenham's next four games are winnable on the basis of their current form, and Van der Vaart is going to be the central figure for Tottenham in the coming weeks. These two players are must-haves for every fantasy manager at this moment in time. 

Transfers out:

Jose Bosingwa is struggling, and it wouldn't be a surprise if Andres Villas-Boas decided to bench him in the coming weeks.

Bosingwa's poor defensive play, coupled with Chelsea's inability to keep clean sheets should be a good enough reason to axe this Portuguese fullback.

Vincent Kompany is suspended, and Manchester City have tough games coming up, so now is the time to act prudently and transfer him out of your team in favour of his teammate Micah Richards or Manchester United's Phil Jones.

Manchester United defenders: Sir Alex Ferguson's team has been increasingly shaky at the back, which is unheard of. Last week's Everton game and the midweek Champions League home tie against Romanian minnows showed why fantasy managers should think twice before buying United defenders.

The only safe bet is Phil Jones, who is expected to play in every game because of a combination of Rio Ferdinand's poor form, Chris Smalling's injury and Jones' versatility. He's quite capable of providing assists, so even without clean sheets, you could expect him to score decent points.

Newcastle United defenders will have a tough time keeping clean sheets in the next few game-weeks, as they have the toughest run-in of the 20 teams. They will play Everton, Man City, Man United and Chelsea in the coming weeks, so fantasy managers have to decide whether it's worth keeping the Newcastle defenders amongst the substitutes four weeks in a row.

Luis Nani has been disappointing, to say the least. A lot was expected of him after a stunning season last term, littered with assists left, right and centre. It hasn't turned out that way, as Nani is going through a lean patch. Given his poor form and price, it would be wise to drop him for consistent performers like Silva or Van der Vaart.

Matt Jarvis started off brilliantly with two assists and a goal in his first two games. Since then, he hasn't contributed anything, and looks so out of form that he's struggling to even get into the Wolves' first team, which underlines how poor he has been, when you consider the fact that not too long ago fans were clamouring for his inclusion in the England squad. 

Transfers in:

In addition to van Persie and Van der Vaart, there are quite a few in-form players right now, some of whom you should seriously consider bringing in as soon as possible.

Micah Richards is having the time of his life. He has been simply outstanding so far this season, with his marauding runs into the box. He has already registered four assists, and has very much established himself as Roberto Mancini's first-choice right back.

Squad rotation is an issue at the Etihad Stadium, but expect Richards to play more often than not in the Premier League ties, and considering City's overall quality, Richards is going to provide many more assists in the coming weeks. His stock is going to rise very quickly, so now is the perfect time to get him into your team.

Jose Enrique is one of the most popular players amongst the fantasy managers, and with good reasons too. He has been absolutely spectacular since his transfer to Liverpool.

Although Liverpool as a unit is not playing well defensively, Enrique has caught the eyes with his forward surge and defensive solidity. He has already contributed two assists and has four bonus points to his name. Inflation is going to play a major role now that he's high on fantasy managers' wish lists.

Luis Suarez has been uncharacteristically wasteful in front of the goal this season. Had be been prolific, he could've registered a couple of hat tricks by now. However, don't write him off. Have patience with this player, as he's due for a big performance.

Liverpool's fixture list doesn't suggest he's going to enjoy the upcoming games, but a lot is expected of him this weekend against Swansea. 

Bargain buys:

Wolves will fancy their chances against Wigan this week. Jamie O'Hara is a good bet to have this weekend.

Bolton hosts Stoke City, and a lot is expected of Chris Eagles this weekend. He has been fairly good in a poor Bolton side. A good squad player at £5.3.

Joe Allen is a nifty footballer. His price doesn't do justice to his abilities. For the price he's valued at, he could be a good squad player for the duration of the season. Fantasy managers should consider buying him for a paltry £4.6, which is excellent value for money, considering he has already scored seven bonus points, as many as the much sought-after David Silva! 

Captaincy:

Those fantasy managers who have the high-flying Dutchman van Persie in their side will not have too much to think about when it comes to handing over the captain's armband.

Luis Suarez is also expected to score big this weekend, so that's a good bet. Van der Vaart is also a good option, but Tottenham have an away fixture at the Craven Cottage, so you have to ponder a bit before making him the captain, as the games at Craven Cottage can get scrappy at times with less goal-mouth action, but the Spurs are on a roll so they might sneak in a win.

David Silva away at the Loftus Road is a good option, but the diminutive playmaker picked up a knock in the mid-week Champions League tie, so he may not play a part. It's a risk which you don't need to take if you have van Persie or Suarez in your side.
