FC Barcelona: A Look at Barca's Top 10 Celebrity Fans

0 of 10

Barcelona has its fair share of fan support worldwide, and some of those fans are celebrities.

It is fair to say that basically every major team in Europe, and even some smaller teams, has one or more celebrity fans. Here is a list of some other celebrity football fans.

Some of the fans on this list are much newer than others, and some may be much closer to team than others. cough Shakira cough. Most of the Barcelona natives on this list haven't really come out and stated their allegiance, but I think it's pretty fair to say that they are.

Just as basically all the players on the Barcelona team are A-list players, some of these Barcelona celebrities are A-list celebrities.

So here is a list of Barcelona's top 10 celebrity fans.

Shakira

1 of 10

Shakira has been an international superstar on the music scene for some time now, so she definitely had to make this list. Having a relationship with the future captain of the team helps as well.

The Colombian singer finally confirmed what everyone had thought for some time when she posted a Twitter picture with a romantic caption. They are a cute couple, aren't they?

If you want any evidence as to how strong their relationship is, these events after the Copa del Rey Final earlier this year seem pretty heartfelt.

Look at Carles Puyol. He may be intently watching the game, but with that look on his face, he is probably saying in his head, "Pique you lucky dog."

Kobe Bryant

2 of 10

Kobe Bryant may have used the extra time off during the lockout to watch his favorite team play. Seeing as Bryant is my favorite basketball player on my favorite basketball team, I was glad to see the above clip hit the Internet a few years ago.

Kobe even played in a celebrity game held by women's soccer legend Mia Hamm this past summer.

If you want even more evidence of his appreciation for Barcelona, when he was questioned about the possibility of playing basketball in Europe with Barcelona as an option, Bryant was quick to respond in a positive manner.

Check here for that article. Bryant's answer is at the very end of the article.

Justin Beiber

3 of 10

Yes, Bieber Fever went to Barcelona for some time. As much as many fans on the Bleacher Report, and surely most fans of Barcelona, would dislike seeing Justin Bieber associated with their team, here he is.

I think you would have to give props to Bieber for also showing up in Madrid with a Barcelona kit as mentioned in the above video. Here is the clip.

Bieber is a sensation for a certain age group of adoring fans, and his popularity more than his longevity of fan appreciation got him on this list. Never say never, Barcelona fans.

Javier Bardem

4 of 10

Another video, another A-list celebrity. Javier Bardem has acted in some pretty good movies during his career—I personally like him in No Country for Old Men—and he deserves to be on this list.

The answer he gives about Barcelona is quite to my liking. Instead of just blurting out a superstar player, he mentions how much he likes the team's style of play. That answer gives some idea that he isn't really just jumping on the bandwagon.

Bardem may not be seen playing a shirt like some of the others on this list, but I think he is worthy of being on this list.

Jose Luis Zapatero

5 of 10

Jose Luiz Zapatero is currently the Prime Minister of Spain. Earlier in the year, he announced he would be stepping down from his position this year.

Leaving behind his Prime Minister role could give him more time to take in a game at the Camp Nou. After the Blaugrana's recent victory in "El Clasico," Zapatero praised the team.

Jordi Pujol

6 of 10

Jordi Pujol is a Catalan politician who was the leader of the Democratic Convergence of Catalonia party and the President of the Generalitat of Catalonia.

While there is no real record of him stating his love for the club, Pujol was born in Barcelona and no doubt follows the team as much as he can.

Aranxta Sanchez Vicario

7 of 10

Aranxta Sanchez Vicario is a former women's tennis player. She was born in Barcelona, and, just like many of the others on this list, she may be a Barcelona fan by default.

Vicario won four Grand Slam titles in her career and was also ranked No. 1 at one point.

Alex Corretja

8 of 10

Alex Corretja is another former tennis player who was born in Barcelona. During his time as a player, Corretja won the ATP Tour World Championship in 1998, and in 1999, he achieved his highest singles ranking at No. 2.

Pau Gasol

9 of 10

Pau Gasol definitely has history with Barcelona. He was born there, and he played for the Barcelona basketball team before making his way to the NBA.

Like many of the Barcelona born people on this list, there is not much record on the Internet of Gasol actually stating his allegiance to the Barcelona football team. But I think it's safe to say he does like them.

Drew Carey

10 of 10

Drew Carey's role with the Seattle Sounders is probably his calling card right now.

When Carey became part-owner of the Sounders, he wanted to institute a system similar to Barcelona's, where fans can buy membership.

Later on in the article, Carey's own membership to Barcelona is mentioned. Carey is definitely a fan of football, and he is a fan of Barcelona.
