The nonsense that is the rumor mill of the transfer window continued to fill up with ridiculous rumors today as a rumor out of Spain linked Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil with a move to AC Milan.

The rumor was posted via Twitter by Bryan Teixera (@MilanDiavolo) who tweets primarily about Milan and its Primavera squad:

Rumors coming from Madrid, that if they are true, could mean that Milan would reject Tevez and go for Ozil as he's no longer wanted there.

Neither Milan nor Madrid, nor any football fans for that matter, should put much stock in this rumor. It is simply that, a rumor, just like anything else that comes out about potential moves in the world of football.

Fans get their hopes up and are 99 percent of the time disappointed. Until official word is heard from the club or a reliable source close to the party or parties involved, it is not worth more than a glance and a giggle.

Twenty-two games, two goals, six assists—these are the numbers for the German international this season at the Santiago Bernabeu. He is one of the 55 shortlisted players for the FIFPro World XI, and he has recently hailed Jose Mourinho for playing a critical role in his development as a player. He is only 23 and already a great player on one of the world's two best clubs.

That's why there are many issues with this rumor. Some say that Ozil doesn't show up for big games. They say the same about many players. He is still barely in his prime. At only 23, he hasn't even reached his prime quite yet!

He is labeled as one of the 55 best players in the world. Think about how many professional footballers there are in the world. Quite a few. Fifty-five is a fraction of those players and he's only 23. He's having a fantastic season at one of the most famous clubs in the world. He would be a fortune for AC Milan and money is not a benefit of the club at the moment.

Expect a few loan moves from AC Milan this winter, but a guy like Mesut Ozil? Not likely.
