    All is quiet for Arsenal except the constant rumours and gossip about player transfers.

    It is unlikely that Arsene Wenger will spend big during the window, but he could try to strengthen the squad enough to compete further.

    The Gunners need some defensive cover, even if its just for a short period. Thierry Henry has been brought in on loan as a striker, but a more full-time reinforcement could be brought as well.

Demba Ba

    Demba Ba has become hot property in the last months, with his great goal-scoring form attracting interest.

    According to Givemefootball.com, Arsenal are set to be locked in a battle with Liverpool for the Newcastle forward's services.

    Ba has been an instrumental part of Newcastle's achievements so far this season and if he continues on at this rate, the interest will only increase.

Salomon Kalou

    Arsenal has also been linked with versatile attacker Salomon Kalou. The Ivorian player has found playing time sparse this season under new Chelsea boss, Andre Villas-Boas.

    The Daily Mail reports that the player may be involved in talks with Arsenal over a move.

Edin Visca

    According to SkySports.com and Edin Visca himself, Arsene Wenger has kept tabs on the young Bosnian winger.

    While a sudden January move may not seem likely, it would be interesting to see if anything does eventually materialise where Arsenal and this player are concerned.

Eric Abidal

    While other options such as Wayne Bridge, Taye Taiwo and Aly Cissokho have been mentioned, there is another left back that has been brought into the mix.

Matias Suarez
