    Manchester United continue to be one of the most talked about teams in this January's transfer window speculation.

    With so many injury issues surrounding the team, it is possible that they could be in line to sign several players despite having not wanted to earlier in the campaign.

    But not only are their transfer rumors this week but also rumors that the club's best forward in Wayne Rooney could be on his way out of the team.

    As the window nears its halfway point, we take a look back at the biggest Manchester United stories of the week.

Dimitar Berbatov

    While Dimitar Berbatov has experienced a sort of renaissance in the last month, scoring six goals in the English Premier League for Manchester United, he looks more than certain to be taking his leave soon.

    Bayern Munich has been linked with a move for him, according to Goal.com. The German giants are keen to ensure that Mario Gomez has effective attacking support up front.

Darren Gibson

    Everton manager David Moyes has always been one known to stretch a pound, and he looks to have made another excellent signing this week. Manchester United's out-of-favor midfielder Darren Gibson officially made the switch from the Red side of Manchester to the Blue side of Merseyside.

    ESPNsoccernet.com confirmed the move and that Gibson is set to sign a contract to keep him at Goodison park for the foreseeable future, but the fee paid for him is yet to be disclosed.
