Arsenal Transfer Rumours: 7 Strikers Linked to the Emirates

0 of 7

It's no surprise that Arsenal is being continually linked with a number of strikers.

In Arsenal's last 10 games, the team has only scored more than one goal twice. One of those games was a loss. Critics might point to a defense that can't seem to stop the opposition, but it seems scoring is the problem at the moment.

The transfer window is coming to a close fast, so it may just be that nobody else joins the club. At least we have Thierry Henry for now.

Arsenal could probably do with some offensive help. Here are seven strikers who have been linked with club.

Lukas Podolski

At one point, the Lukas Podolski rumours were coming thick and fast, and it all seemed so possible and exciting.

We could've used some of that German efficiency.

Podolski has been in pretty good form so far this year (14 goals and five assists in 18 games) and could be a nice addition to the team.

Not much happening here, as it seems that more and more suitors are looking to gain the German forward's services.

Luuk De Jong

Arsenal has been linked with another free-scoring Dutchman during this window.

According to Footybunker, com, the Gunners may try to sign Luuk De Jong.

The Dutch youngster has 15 goals in 20 games, if you go by ESPN. com statistics, and may very well fit into Arsenal's style of play.

Matias Suarez

Matias Suarez is definitely one of the options that fit the Arsene Wenger type of deal—young and talented—except for his transfer price.

It has been reported that Arsenal have indeed come to an agreement with the player, but it is certainly not for this month.

Hugo Rodallega

There have not been many rumours since then, but Rodallega has apparently announced his intent to leave and may or may not be subject to an Arsenal move.

Rodallega is one of the few Premier League forwards linked with the club.

Olivier Giroud

Oliver Giroud admittedly dreams of a move to England.

If Newcastle, one of his rumoured destinations, is "too small," then Arsenal it is.

Considering Newcastle's signing of Papiss Demba Cisse, it is unlikely they will be looking for a new forward.

The transfer fee mentioned in that Guardian article would be a hurdle, though.

Burak Yilmaz

Buruk Yilmaz is the latest striker to be added to the Arsenal transfer sweepstakes.

The Turkish forward has declared his interest in a move to Arsenal.

Yilmaz has scored 22 goals in 17 league games, and if that sort of form remains throughout the season and continues in EURO 2012, this man may find himself a buyer.

Not sure if it will be Arsenal, though.

Demba Ba

Everyone's favourite source, Caughtoffside.com, reports that Arsene Wenger is planning an £18 million bid for the Senegalese striker.

Earlier this month, that fee was 10 Million. Go figure.

Anyway, Ba has been really good for Newcastle, with 15 league goals so far, but if a transfer battle does ensue and the fee rises to those numbers, you can probably rule Arsenal out.
