Striker to return to New York later this month

New York Red Bulls coach Hans Backe insists Thierry Henry will not be extending his loan spell at Arsenal. The Gunners moved to bring their record goalscorer back for a second spell in North London at the turn of the year and he has scored two goals in five games. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had recently claimed he would look into extending Henry's stay at the Emirates with the Frenchman being included in the club's UEFA Champions League squad. However, Backe has revealed Henry has informed he will be heading back to New York on 17th February as originally planned. "When I spoke to him [Henry], he told me that he was 100 per cent coming back on February 17," said Backe. "What I know, it's only rumours. I haven't heard anything from them about extending the loan."
