Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has denied speculation over the England job has distracted him or his players, despite suffering back-to-back defeats.
Spurs were beaten 3-1 by Manchester United at White Hart Lane on Sunday to all but end their Premier League title hopes following last weekend's derby defeat at Arsenal.
Suggestions have surfaced Redknapp and his side have lost focus due to the manager being heavily linked with the England managerial role after Fabio Capello's exit.
But the 65-year-old was quick to refute such claims.
He said: "My only focus is on Tottenham, it's had no effect. You couldn't come away and say, 'The players haven't tried today'.
"They worked hard against one of the two best teams in the country."
Redknapp reiterated his feeling that Spurs were unlucky to be beaten by Sir Alex Ferguson's title-chasers after the visitors looked in trouble on more than one occasion.

"They were there to be beaten today. I've not seen Alex on his feet as much for years, it wasn't going their way, but that's how it goes sometimes in football," he said.
"You don't always get what you deserve and I don't think we did today. Today, I just thought they rode their luck.
"They did very little. I thought we dominated them. I thought we were better than them for most of the game.
"I'd be the first one to come here and say, 'We were poor today and they'd tanked us, they were different class to us', but I didn't see that today."
