Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Listing Every Player Linked Since January

0 of 30

Since the January transfer window ended, Arsene Wenger is reportedly set to do a lot of revamping to his Arsenal team—and, according to various media sources, is looking at signing 30 players.

Everyone from a well-performing Chelsea star to one of the Eredivisie's most talked about defenders to a little-known youngster playing for Crewe Alexandra could apparently sign for the Gunners.

Throw in a winger from Ukraine and a West Bromwich Albion player, mixed in with a few players from South America, and it seems Wenger is looking all over for potential signings.

Here are all the players who have been linked with a summer move to Arsenal since the January transfer window ended.

Benjamin Corgnet

1 of 30

Benjamin Corgnet, the 24-year-old playmaker currently making shockwaves in Ligue 1 for Dijon FCO, is the latest player linked with Arsenal.

The Gunners apparently had their chief scout, Gilles Grimandi, watch the player in action against table-toppers Paris Saint-Germain last weekend.

Premier League rivals Newcastle United are also said to be interested in the midfielder, who has scored eight goals and made two assists in the league this season and has an asking price of £5 million.

Lukas Podolski

2 of 30

Benjamin Corgnet is the latest transfer target linked with Arsenal, with Lukas Podolski one of the most widely reported.

The 26-year-old FC Cologne striker—who is having his first prolific campaign in many seasons—is said to have agreed a four-year, £100,000-a-week contract with the Gunners, while apparently, both clubs have settled on a £10.9 million fee.

Podolski seems unlikely to be a success at Arsenal, but the club need a striker to help Robin van Persie and they need more goals in attack—95-capped Germany international Podolski has 16 in the Bundesliga from 21 games.

Eden Hazard

3 of 30

Eden Hazard, long since linked with Arsenal, apparently wants a summer transfer to the Gunners despite declaring his interest in playing for Tottenham Hotspur

    He said:

It's always more fun when it's beautiful [the football]. In addition, at Arsenal, there is a coach and French players. And Thomas Vermaelen.

There are several clubs that interest me in England and Arsenal is really a part.

The 21-year-old has scored 11 goals and made eight assists in Ligue 1 this season and has won a staggering seven Man of the Match awards.

Despite the constant speculation of a switch to Arsenal, a Hazard move to the Emirates is highly unlikely, especially considering Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Manchester United are all interested.

Mario Goetze

4 of 30

Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and half of Serie A all apparently want 19-year-old Mario Goetze.

But still, Arsenal are said to be in the hunt for him and are reportedly set to launch a £25 million bid for the Borussia Dortmund playmaker this summer, who's apparently keen to link up with the Gunners.

Currently out injured, Goetze has nonetheless been brilliant in the Bundesliga this season, scoring five goals, making five assists, hitting 34 key passes and winning two Man of the Match awards in 14 league games.

Yann M'Vila

5 of 30

Yann M'Vila will leave Rennes this summer, according to his manager, Frederic Antonetti.

The 21-year-old holding midfielder's contract doesn't run out until 2015, but after stating his desire to leave the club after Euro 2012, his gaffer has confirmed he will leave this summer, telling French radio station Radio Monte Carlo: "Yann M'Vila won't be a Stade Rennais player next season."

His Rennes teammate, centre-back Kader Mangane, said to goal.com back in November 2011 that M'Vila will "join Real Madrid or Arsenal next summer."

France international M'Vila has become a standout defensive midfielder in world football this season, making on average 3.1 tackles per game and 2.4 interceptions, as well as hitting 1.1 key passes and seven accurate long balls per match, along with 10 accurate through balls this season—such statistics make him one of the most complete midfielders in the game.

Lucas Biglia

6 of 30

Lucas Biglia, the older and less-rated version of Yann M'Vila—who's also long been linked with Arsenal—has apparently been told by the Gunners to up his game if he is to be worthy of a summer move to the Emirates.

Chief scout Gilles Grimandi, who watched the RSC Anderlecht midfielder against AZ Alkmaar, reportedly told Biglia's representatives that Arsenal are still following him (18 months after first being apparently interested in him), but want to see a bigger improvement in the 26-year-old's game before they consider making a bid.

Biglia has an asking price of £15 million and is also attracting interest from Villarreal and Valencia, with his contract not set to run out until June 2015.

Matias Suarez

7 of 30

Matias Suarez, the other RSC Anderlecht talent interesting Arsenal, are said to be chasing the 23-year-old forward's signature, along with a whole host of other teams.

Reports of a pre-contract agreement appear wide of the mark, as Liverpool, Everton and FC Barcelona are all also in the hunt for the Argentine.

Suarez has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 10 goals and making 16 assists in the Jupiler Pro League this season, as well as scoring a further seven goals and making three assists in the UEFA Europa League.

Arjen Robben

8 of 30

Arjen Robben is the latest player linked to Arsenal, with the brilliant Bayern Munich winger said to be available for just £10 million following a bust-up with the Bundesliga giants.

And he's said to be interested in a move to the Premier League.

The downside for the Gunners? Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur also want him.

Junior Hoilett

9 of 30

If every report was to be believed, Arsenal could be set to sign half of the wingers in world football this summer.

One player they are particular interested in, reportedly, is Blackburn Rovers star Junior Hoilett, whose contract runs out this summer.

The Gunners are said to be leading the chase for his signature and are viewing the 21-year-old Canadian as backup to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and a player whose presence in the team would allow Theo Walcott to play centrally.

Due to his age, Blackburn will be due £6 million compensation for the winger, who has scored five goals and made five assists in the Premier League so far this season.

Steven N'Zonzi

10 of 30

Arsenal are set to pull off a double raid on Blackburn Rovers this summer and poach Steven N'Zonzi from Ewood Park in addition to Junior Hoilett.

Reports say 23-year-old holding midfielder N'Zonzi has interested Arsenal since 2010, with the Gunners leading the chase to sign the Frenchman ahead of Premier League rivals Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

Stephane Sessegnon

11 of 30

Stephane Sessegnon, the 27-year-old Sunderland wing wizard, is reportedly interesting both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Both clubs apparently view the Benin international as an ideal player to boost their attacking options, given his Premier League experience and ability.

Sessegnon has scored six goals, made seven assists, hit 53 key passes and won two Man of the Match awards in the league this season.

Daniel Sturridge

12 of 30

A month ago, when Andre Villas-Boas was still in charge at Chelsea, Arsenal were reportedly set to take advantage of Daniel Sturridge's situation at the Blues.

Sturridge was apparently unhappy at being played on the wing, having scored more Premier League goals than Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres combined, and considering a summer exit from Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal scout Steve Rowley was said to started off a potential transfer by declaring to Chelsea the Gunners' interest in Gunners fan Sturridge.

Now Roberto di Matteo is in charge, and whether all of this is still the case remains to be seen.

Peter Odemwingie

13 of 30

Peter Odemwingie is reportedly set to be the subject of a second transfer offer from Arsenal this summer.

Arsene Wenger apparently made a move for the striker last summer, but was put off by the asking price from West Bromwich Albion, £8 million.

However, seen as Odemwingie has continued his impressive form this season, Wenger is seemingly not as put off by the fee.

Jan Vertonghen

14 of 30

Arsenal have seemingly been linked with Jan Vertonghen since time began, and finally now appear favourites for his signature.

Tottenham Hotspur hold their mandatory interest in the player given that bitter rivals Arsenal want him, but apparently, the Ajax centre-back was at the Emirates to watch Arsenal's 3-0 UEFA Champions League win over AC Milan, and told his friend, Thomas Vermaelen, how impressed he was with the Gunners.

Therefore, Vertonghen (a perfect player for Arsenal) must be set for a transfer to the club.

Olivier Giroud

15 of 30

Olivier Giroud, the burgeoning Montpellier striker, is another striker who has long been linked with Arsenal.

Reports say Giroud, 25, wants a move to the Gunners and would be available for £13 million.

The forward, whose 17 goals and seven assists have vital for Montpellier's success in Ligue 1 this season, apparently said: "I like the Frenchy feel at Arsenal."

Younes Belhanda

16 of 30

Younes Belhanda, the scintillating Montpellier star and teammate of Olivier Giroud, is something of a rarity in Arsenal transfer rumours.

That's because Arsene Wenger actually commented on the player when asked about whether his team are making a move for the winger. Wenger said, "I love this player, but I do not want to create problems. Montpellier will decide if he leaves."

Belhanda, 22, has scored seven goals and made four assists in the league this season.

Andriy Yarmolenko

17 of 30

Andriy Yarmolenko is the less celebrated 22-year-old winger quietly linked with Arsenal.

Yarmolenko, who has scored 12 goals and made five assists in 21 Premier Liga games this season, is apparently on the Gunners' shortlist of summer transfer targets.

However, if Arsene Wenger wants the player, he'll have to act quickly, as both Shaktar Donetsk and Napoli are interested.

Marko Marin

18 of 30

Marko Marin has been linked with a move away from Werder Bremen ever since he emerged on the scene in the Bundesliga.

Arsenal will battle Liverpool this summer, apparently for the player who clearly isn't the "German Messi."

The 23-year-old winger has scored just one goal and made three assists in 17 league games this season.

Cristian Tello

19 of 30

Cristian Tello is doing well at FC Barcelona now, with the 20-year-old quietly shining as five-goal Lionel Messi stole the show in the 7-1 Camp Nou rout over Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League.

Therefore, he must move away from the club this summer, according to the logic of the transfer rumours surrounding him.

Arsenal are reportedly lining up a swoop for him in the next transfer window, having already made several scouting missions to Barca to watch him play.

Lucas Moura

20 of 30

Lucas Moura, the highly celebrated 19-year-old Sao Paulo attacking midfielder, is reportedly set to be the subject of a summer bid from Arsenal.

Moura, who has scored four goals and made three assists so far in 2012, has a buyout clause of £66 million (but will definitely leave for a much lower amount) and is attracting interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur (probably because Arsenal want to sign him).

A wave of speculation over his future started when it emerged the highly-rated talent was taking English lessons.

Jamaal Lascelles

21 of 30

And now for a wave of speculation regarding the trademark obscure young signing Arsene Wenger craves at Arsenal.

Jamaal Lascelles, the 18-year-old Nottingham Forest and England U19 centre-back, is wanted by both Arsenal and (surprise surprise) Tottenham Hotspur.

Currently on-loan at Stevenage, the Gunners failed in January 2011 with a £5 million bid (£2 million up-front with £3 million add-ons), but are set to renew their interest this summer.

Nick Powell

22 of 30

Nick Powell, the 17-year-old attacking midfielder who's a regular in the Crewe Alexandra starting lineup, was recently the subject of a £1.25 million bid from Arsenal, according to reports.

Powell, a highly-rated talent set to play at a much higher level than League Two next season (England's fourth-tier), has scored 10 goals in 29 league games this season.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur (of course) are also keen on his signature.

Carel Tiofack

23 of 30

Carel Tiofack, a 17-year-old forward at Ipswich Town, is said to be interesting Arsene Wenger.

Wenger personally watched Tiofack—a Cameroon-born Irishman—play for the Ipswich Town U18s, so therefore, The Sun claims Arsenal will make an offer for the player.

Tarum Dawkins

24 of 30

Moreso a completed deal than mere speculation, 16-year-old Tarum Dawkins recently made the switch from Luton Town to Arsenal.

According to Luton, Dawkins attracted interest from 14 Premier League clubs and moves to the Gunners for a "significant transfer fee."

Head of youth at the club Gregg Broughton said of the winger, "He is very quick both with and without the football, can play off both feet and therefore he will fit in very well with Arsenal's style of play."

Youssef Msakni

25 of 30

Youssef Msakni (pictured trying to fly), a 21-year-old Tunisia international and playmaker with club Esperance Tunis, is yet another obscure African talent linked with Arsenal.

Club officials from the Gunners reportedly flew out last month to Tunis to discuss terms with the midfielder, who impressed during the 2012 African Cup of Nations, scoring twice.

Msakni has scored six times and made two assists in eight Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 games this season.

Isco

26 of 30

Isco, the 19-year-old Malaga playmaker, will apparently be the subject of a £5 million bid from Arsenal this summer.

Arsene Wenger is said to view Isco as a star of the future.

The player has scored three goals in five caps for the Spain U21s and has also scored three times in La Liga this season, also making two assists, hitting 25 key passes and winning two Man of the Match awards.

Daniel Opare

27 of 30

Daniel Opare, the Standard Liege and Ghana wingback, will be the subject of interest from Arsenal this summer, according to reports.

Twenty-one-year-old Opare was named one of the 50 most promising young talents in world football by World Soccer magazine in 2007 and was signed by Real Madrid in 2008, having spent time between the ages of 11 and 14 in the famous Ajax academy.

Over the past few years, Opare has been slow in his development, but is now shining in Belgium and is rated at £2 million.

Rodrigo Moreno

28 of 30

As the search for improvement in Arsenal's attacking department continues (especially if Lukas Podolski doesn't sign for the club and Robin van Persie leaves), Rodrigo Moreno is yet another forward linked with the Gunners.

A flop at Bolton Wanderers, Moreno is now impressing at Benfica, having scored 14 goals in 21 games this season.

The 21-year-old Spaniard—who's scored seven goals in five caps for the Spain U21s—has a release clause of £17.5 million.

Javi Garcia

29 of 30

Rodrigo Moreno's Benfica teammate, Javi Garcia, is another player linked with Arsenal.

As the Gunners apparently step up their search for a holding midfielder, 25-year-old Garcia is said to be on Arsene Wenger's radar.

A steel-edged defensive-minded player who has been vital in Benfica's UEFA Champions League run, Garcia would provide the tough-tackling Arsenal currently lack.

But a £27 million asking price might see this transfer not happen.

Claudio Yacob

30 of 30

Claudio Yacob, a younger and cheaper version of Javi Garcia, has also been linked with a summer move to Arsenal.

Available on a free transfer this summer, it's reported that the Gunners enquired at the start of February about Yacob's availability, with the 24-year-old energetic midfielder keen for a move to Europe.

Yacob, who plays for Racing Club in Argentina, is considered a poor man's Javier Mascherano and is one of 30 players Arsenal have been linked with a summer move for since the 2012 January transfer window ended.
