World Football Gossip Roundup: Robin van Persie, Luis Suarez, Coach Zidane

0 of 6

Saturday's gossip roundup offers a little of the old with a bit of the new.

Robin van Persie to Real Madrid? Heard it before.

Luis Suarez to stay at Liverpool? Nothing new there.

Zinedine Zidane to become a manager? What's that now?

All that and more in today's rumor mill. Read on for details.

Real Madrid Want RvP

1 of 6

Real Madrid reportedly want Arsenal striker Robin van Persie. Is that really news?

It is according to Daily Express, which is reporting that the Spanish giants will bid £25 million for the in-form Dutchman.

No word yet on whether Real would offer RvP his own villa at their new resort island.

Rossi to Spurs?

2 of 6

Giuseppe Rossi made news earlier this week when it was reported that Villarreal will sell the Italian forward at the end of this season.

On Friday, TalkSport reported that Tottenham "had emerged as the strong favourites" to land Rossi.

Rossi, 25, is currently recovering from a long-term knee injury.

Another French Signing for Arsenal?

Hey, what d'ya know? It's another French player being linked to Arsenal. And Newcastle.

This time it's Montpellier captain Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, a 22-year-old French defender of Central African Republic descent.

InsideFutbol reckons Arsenal, Newcastle and even Bayern Munich are interested.

Villa Tracking Dutch Striker?

4 of 6

After Saturday's 3-0 drubbing at Arsenal, Aston Villa clearly need offense. One option could be Dutch "goal machine" Bas Dost.

Mirror Football reports that Villa will fight Valencia for the 22-year-old Dost, who leads Holland's Eredivisie with 22 goals this season for Heerenveen.

The Holland Under-21 international is rated at £5 million.

Suarez Prepared to Stay?

5 of 6

It's been a rough season for Luis Suarez, and the rumor mill has linked the Uruguayan striker with a move away from Liverpool after the season.

But Metro reports that Liverpool and Suarez will hold contract talks this summer.

Suarez joined Liverpool in January 2011.

Coach Zidane?

6 of 6

It's almost too weird to think about. A team full of headbutting nutters would be the scourge of Europe.

Then again, Zinedine Zidane also played some pretty great football during his career. So the fact that he's saying he'll coach soon shouldn't be any surprise.

Question is, which formerly great footballer will he be more like as a coach? Graeme Souness or Pep Guardiola?
