Norwich City: 5 Reasons Canaries Will Secure Survival at Craven Cottage

0 of 5

Norwich City have adapted superbly well to life in the Premier League this season. So much so that they are on the verge of securing survival with games to spare.

The Canaries currently sit on 39 points, just one point below that magic 40 point mark. 40 points looks certain to be enough this season. Therefore, Norwich would dearly love to secure at least a point in Saturday's game against Fulham in London.

They Are Dangerously Close to Fulham in the League Table

Norwich City are just three points ahead of Fulham in the league table. The two sides also have a similar goal difference. Therefore, a Fulham win could result in the London club jumping ahead of the Canaries.

This should serve as useful motivation to ensure that the Canaries secure at least a point at Craven Cottage.

Norwich City Never Know When They Are Beaten

Last season Norwich City were known for scoring a number of late goals. That has not been so much the case this season, but they have been determined to turn games around. This means gaining 13 points from losing positions.

Had they not managed to turn these games around Norwich would be in 17th place in the Premier League table. Norwich City may get some joy on Saturday, because Fulham have conceded 16 goals in the final 15 minutes of games (worst in the league).

Norwich City Will Want to Put the Record Straight

3 of 5

The majority of Norwich City fans will remember all to well what happened last time the two sides met at Craven Cottage. It was the last day of the Premier League season on the 15 May 2005, and when Fulham won the game 6-0, Norwich City were relegated back to the Championship.

This season things are very different and it highly unlikely either side will be relegated. However, the Canaries will be keen to show how far they have come since then.

Norwich City Are in Better Form

It is fair to say that Fulham are on a bad run at the moment. They have lost their last three games, failing to score in the process. Norwich City have not been in fantastic form themselves, but they have picked up four points in the last three games.

Norwich City's Aerial Threat

5 of 5

Norwich City have the best record in the Premier League for headed goals (15). However, they will be without leading goal-scorer Grant Holt through suspension.

The Canaries love to get the ball down and play through the wings. So whoever plays up front will carry a threat in the air. If the likes of Elliott Bennett and Anthony Pilkington can provide good service then Fulham will need to be on their guard.
