Americans on the Move This Summer

It's that time of the season again.

The European leagues are winding down and all that is left for the writers and pundits to do is create transfer rumors.

The Americans on the move come in all stages of their careers.

Aging and looking for one more pay day, in their prime and looking to move up and youngsters looking to make a name for themselves.

While no one can be completely sure of anything, these players are a good bet to be changing kits this summer. 

If you think there is anyone I missed, let me know, and I may include them. 

While his future with Rangers is uncertain, there is a good chance we could see an American exodus with Edu being the hottest commodity. 

Sochaux launched a £ 1 million bid for Edu in the winter window, but were rejected. With the crisis Rangers are in now, if offered that again, it would be hard for them to turn it down.

Prediction: Off to France for Edu

Captain Carlos may well be out the door along with Edu.

Bocanegra was said to have joined the Rangers for the opportunity to win titles and play in the Champions League. Well, the opportunity for that may have passed if the situation at Rangers does not get any better. 

If he wants to win a championship, then he will be gone during the summer.

Prediction: MLS. I am sure there will be offers from lower European leagues for him, but I don't know how far down in quality he will want to drop. The Galaxy and the Red Bulls need a centre-back, right?

Struggling to break into Rangers' side after his transfer from Orebro in Sweden, Bedoya has come on of late with a couple of goals and a couple of starts.

The least likely to move of the three, Bedoya still may be a casualty of the wage cap at Rangers. 

Prediction: Having not really started anywhere, but in Sweden, Bedoya may have to make a move back there—though it would not surprise me if he stays at Rangers. He has expressed his desire to do so. 

After staring for Norwegian club Stabaek, Mix won a loan move to Gent in the Belgian  First Division.

Since that move in the second half of the season, Mix has struggle to find the field with the third place Gent side.

Only 21 years old, there is plenty of time for Mix to develop into the player most American soccer fans think he will. 

Prediction: Mix has what it takes to make the step up from Norway, while it may not be with Gent. He has more than enough talent to find a home with a mid-table Belgian team. 

After what seemed like a good move to Eintracht Frankfurt to get playing time, it went south quickly for Ricardo.

After struggling mightily to find playing time, he was allowed to leave on loan to Stabæk in Norway. His time up north has seemingly steadied his career, as he has found a home in the midfield. 

Prediction: His time at Stabaek may have alerted bigger teams, but I have a feeling he will be making his stay in Norway  for the long term.     

This is the transfer that everyone will be looking forward to.

Will he stay, will he go, where will he go?

It appears as if one potential landing spot could be gone, as Arsenal has singed Yann M'Vila from French side Rennes for a hefty fee of £17.7 million.

Prediction: Staying at Fulham. I can't see a Champions League club making a move for him, and any thing else would be more or less a sideways move. 

It's been a rough time for Brad, as he has been behind some of the best keepers in the EPL during his time in Europe.

After enjoying a strong run between the sticks while Given was out, he now finds himself back on the bench.

With the World Cup qualifying cycle coming up, Brad is going to need to find a place to start if he wants to figure in the national team's plans. 

Prediction: Despite a solid run filling in for Given, Brad will probably have to drop down a level in England, if he wants to start.

This may seem like a surprise inclusion, but there are rumblings out of Italy that are hinting at a move to the eternal city.

The head of the new ownership group, Thomas DiBenedetto, is looking to expand the AS Roma brand to America.

He has has already started by singing new sponsorship deals that will bring AS Roma to a store near you, all he needs to go along with that is a shiny new American player. 

Prediction: The new ownership group has been aggressive so far, and if they make an offer Chievo accepts, who can turn down a move to Rome.
