Arsenal striker on verge of Valencia switch

Arsenal outcast Carlos Vela is on the verge of joining Valencia after club officials thrashed out a deal in London last week, according to reports in Spain.

The Mexico international is currently Arsene Wenger's fifth-choice striker and has started only three Premier League games in three seasons at the club.

Wenger seems to have lost patience with Vela and is ready to let him leave the club on loan to get his career back on track.

Vela enjoyed successful loan spells in Spain earlier in his career, at Osasuna and Celta Vigo, and is now on the verge of joining Valencia on a six-month deal.
