Clear picture of the Infinite Warfare cover

A high-resolution version of the cover has been leaked; according to the additional information contained in it, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered would include both the campaign and 10 multiplayer maps.

kaiserfranz2918d ago

Sounds great, I was worried that they would only remaster the campaign. Everyone is going to be playing the remaster for sure.

KarmaV122918d ago

Does nobody see that the remaster is behind a 110$ paywall?

Crazyglues2918d ago (Edited 2918d ago )

@ KarmaV12

I think everyone sees the paywall but no-one cares because the thought of getting a remastered version of Modern Warfare 4 the one that started it all, just sounds too good to be true... Hell I don't even want to tell you want I would be willing to pay for a Bad Company 2 Remastered Version...LoL (My Fav Battlefield of all time) Plus I don't think anyone thought it would be free..

This is Activision were talking about here/ at least they give you the option to just get the game without the remaster if you really don't want it..
-So looks like Legacy Edition it is then.... just can't pass up revisiting MW4-

BarneyS2918d ago

I want to know what it will cost in Euro's, because I'm not paying €110 (or even €90) for this. I'm not interested in infinite warfare so it's too much to pay that kind of money for modern warfare alone.
Hopefully it will be available as a standalone in the Playstation Store.

BEASELY2918d ago

Well, not really, as the Modern Warfare trilogy remastered is all but confirmed, making it 60 bucks.

annoyedgamer2918d ago

Im sure it will be sold as a standalone.

opinionated2918d ago (Edited 2918d ago )

It has to be. If they released side by side as their own product then the new cod would flop hard. I would buy cod4 instead, I think many would.

CarlosX3602918d ago

Keep in mind, those are Canadian prices. Standard Edition will be a typical $60, and the Legacy Edition will be $100-something.

2917d ago
Deadpooled2917d ago

Get the modern warfare remaster and sell the jetpack cod?

kraenk122917d ago

You guys do realise this "remaster" probably is just a port of the old PC version with almost no additional work involved?!

TheCommentator2917d ago

Call of Duty: Infinite Respawning Enemies

Great, Now people can see that COD actually had a good MP experience at one point! They can also see just how much worse a COD campaign could get. On current releases, both the campaigns and MP are mediocre at best.

A bit off topic:
I heard it mentioned that zombies may be making a return in a big way. If the new COD had a zombies campaign, traditional zombies MP, standard MP and a new version of MP with zombie NPC's that could be controlled in some way to attack the enemy players - the series may just have a chance. IMO, COD either has to step well outside the box or go totally old school WWII again because they have beaten the series to death with annual releases, modern warfare, and future warfare.

BattleAxe2917d ago (Edited 2917d ago )

Another packed holiday season ahead. I barely had enough time to play Rainbow Six Seige, Black Ops 3, Halo 5, and Rise of the Tomb Raider, which all came out within 6 weeks of each other. This holiday season we've got Gears of War 4, possibly Halo Wars 2, Battlefield 5: Eastern Front, Call of Duty 4 Re-Mastered, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, possibly Titanfall 2...and who knows what else lol. Too many games and not enough time...a great problem to have!

RosweeSon2917d ago

Yeah exactly my thoughts it's a great game and to be honest more excited about playing the old one again all refreshed rather than this years new edition but the fact they are making us buy this years edition of the game which Won't even get a look in from me is really awful. They couldn't just have them as separate releases?!... No because then they won't be the biggest selling game come Nov... Bullpoo

Testfire2917d ago

Buy it for the remaster, sell IW.

EjWarrior2917d ago

those are Canadian dollars so I think maybe 80$ is gonna be it!!

Kenshin_BATT0USAI2917d ago

Honestly, I probably would pay for $110 for MW remaster alone. The only Call of Duty I ever liked.

SirBradders2917d ago (Edited 2917d ago )

I don't like cod very much in recent years but the Base game, season pass and remaster ain't too bad to be honest.

Muzikguy2918d ago

Considering how I've passed on the recent CODs, I might go and pick this up. I hope many do, as a testament to how good these were compared to the ones of today. Opinion of course, but the new games aren't good IMO. I know I know all the "why does it sell millions" arguments. I still say they suck in comparison to earlier games

GrontB2918d ago

I agree totally. Last few have fallen short but it's hard ti make a killer game when you cookie cut a bunch from past games to the new games. I'll get MW4 Remastered, but for me I'm out on infinite war. Just give it a whirl one day, someone I know will buy it lol

Deadpooled2917d ago

I'm hoping more that Activision get rid of that stupid map bar at the top in campaign and include something like in modern warfare two.

Muzikguy2917d ago

Wouldn't it be funny if they do some sort of survey and find more players on the remaster over the new game?! I'm sure that's a pipe dream but it sure would be funny

I want Modern Warfare remastered. Glad it has the multiplayer

Alexious2918d ago

It would have been quite pointless otherwise.

Imp0ssibl32918d ago

If anything I would have been angrier if they only remastered the campaign....Wouldn't have bought IW for sure.

pompombrum2918d ago

I really hope they're not locking the remaster behind Infinite Warfare, I'm super excited to play a remastered COD 4 but have zero interest in Infinite Warfare. Seems silly doing both anyway, they should have just worked on remaking the trilogy or something and have that as this year's COD game.

detroitmademe2918d ago

Really guys? So this is where gaming has come too these days? We're actually getting excited for a cod remaster? Jesus Christ, that train of mediocrity just keeps cruising right thru this gen.

WellyUK2918d ago

Because CoD4 is seen as one of the absolute best if not the best FPS MP games ever... It's a remaster yes but this one is not to be looked down on really especially if all they do is up the visuals a bit and it's a win win for both us and Activision.

pompombrum2918d ago

^^^ What Welly said basically, it's been years since I've been able to be excited for a COD game so leave me to my train of mediocrity thanks!

Scrivlar2918d ago

When you say it like that it sounds awful. But this is MW, one of the most beloved games ever made, for me everything after it has been living in it's shadow.

Oschino19072917d ago

At least it's not DETROIT! It's not DETROIT!

Muzikguy2917d ago

Im excited for the remaster. Don't talk about mediocrity because that's all the COD games of recent have been. If people get excited enough over a remaster maybe Activision will start to think of how they're messing up. Yeah they may sell millions, but all the new games are trash compared to earlier games. It reminds me a lot of how music used to be and what it is now, or movies back in the 80s and 90s compared to new releases..... Companies try too hard and ruin themselves

gamer92917d ago

A proper remaster of some of the best games last gen is far more valuable than churning out another Ghosts. They know this which is why they are only giving us 1 game remaster and packaging it with same-old-cod-2016. They’ll do the same down the road with MW2. It would have been far better for their fans if they did a proper remaster with a lot of maps across a few games. But then they wouldn’t get to milk us multiple times

PizzaSteve2917d ago

I agree. COD4 wasn't that good to me like people say it was but that's just my opinion. BF5 is where it's at to me.

Alexious2918d ago

It's highly unlikely that the remaster will be available on its own.

Nitrowolf22918d ago

Uh why not? Activation knows they can cash in easily on this, especially digital downloads, it's not like this is those prestige editions where they come with a fridge and what not.

Majin-vegeta2918d ago

Lol this is activision.Theyll do what they did with the zombie pack for Bo3.First say its only available on certain editions and then later sell it on its own.

CarlosX3602918d ago

Amazon had it listed before, and there's a listing for it now. So, this all but confirms a trilogy is already on the cards.

Monster_Tard2918d ago

@CarlosX360

But doesn't this leak make it seem that it's not a trilogy and that it's just a new game plus MW1 remastered?

Alexious2918d ago

That should be Canadian dollars, so about $80 US.

Deadpooled2917d ago (Edited 2917d ago )

And about £60-70 quid in the UK

Muzikguy2917d ago

I don't see the Canadian part either so it looked expensive to me too

Paytaa2918d ago

$110? For CoD4 and nostalgic purposes alone...it is worth it to me. That said, just going to sell Infinite Warfare on Craigslist after I buy it.

CarlosX3602918d ago

Canadian. Dollars. C'mon guys - read what it says!

Paytaa2918d ago

In that case, I won't feel some sort of pain buying it for $79.99. I get the disagrees but I really don't care. Call of Duty 4 is one of my favorite games ever made and if it means spending that much to relive it a long with non-hacked lobbies, then I'm in 100%.

Definitely selling Infinite Warfare as I'll pretend it doesn't exist.

Monster_Tard2917d ago

I'd say it will probably end up being sold separately as a digital only game.

Call of Duty VR Games - Will They Ever Happen?

The VR industry has long awaited sign of true Call of Duty VR games, but will it ever happen? And does it need to happen?

crazyCoconuts307d ago

I don't think it's in Activision's DNA to stick their neck out on something like this unfortunately. They've got a surefire winner with COD so why risk a winning formula.
fwiw, Firewall Zero Hour was more fun than COD for me, but obviously didn't have the same user base and budget
I wonder hypothetically if a non-VR COD style game were to integrate VR players, could you even balance such a thing out. I'm guessing no.

TheEnigma313306d ago

No it won't. They are lazy and people will buy anyways

ApocalypseShadow306d ago

Highly unlikely at the moment. Executives are more concerned with being bought by Daddy Warbucks and golden parachutes than moving VR forward. They had a chance last gen but released a spaceship, combat demo instead. COD would increase VR awareness but if they were bought, the same thing that happened to other developers under Microsoft would happen to them.

Just consider, before being bought by Microsoft, Bethesda had Skyrim and Wolfenstein Cyber pilot. Ninja Theory had Hell Blade, Dexed and helped with Vader Immortal. Inxile had Mage's Tale. Double Fine had Psychonauts. ID Software had Doom VFR and Doom 3. Compulsion had We Happy Few: Uncle Jack Live.

Ever since the purchase of those developers, zero VR games announced or released. And since Microsoft continues to shun VR, Activision games like COD wouldn't have VR either under them.

Firewall, Crossfire, Pavlov, and whoever else makes an FPS game in VR, will have to do for the time being. Maybe Sony will make one like Killzone or Resistance in VR. Also surprised that Valve didn't put Counterstrike in VR.

poppatron306d ago

I think the experience would be so different to traditional CoD and share so little with it that there would be no point in pinning the CoD label on it. I think Pavlov is about as close as you’ll get

Xbox Fans Call Out 'Activision's Greed' Over Call Of Duty Digital Prices

This week's Deals with Gold selection on Xbox has rubbed certain Xbox fans the wrong way, as several Call of Duty titles are still ludicrously priced - despite being discounted by up to 67% off over the next few days.

VersusDMC964d ago

How is 20 dollars for X360 call of duty games "ludicrously" overpriced?

And with Activision's lawer bills skyrocketing at the moment you are not going to be seeing deep discounts for a bit.

Chevalier964d ago

Pretty sure that's the sale off that's 60% off. After the sale ends that 360 game is still listed at $49.99, right not its $19.99 because the 60% off.

VersusDMC964d ago

I guess they can wait for the next sale then.

SullysCigar964d ago

It's nice to see the Xbox community stand up for themselves though. That's been needed for a long time.

InUrFoxHole963d ago

For a long time? Its the reason xbox is killing it this gen.

senorfartcushion964d ago

Lawsuits don’t cost billions, they’re ALWAYS going to be fine for money.

They could stack their bills on the ground and fill half the continent of Africa at this point.

RaiderNation964d ago

Because Xbox fans are so used to playing games on the Xbox EBT subscription service, the idea of paying anything for a game seems ludicrous to them.

MadLad963d ago (Edited 963d ago )

You pay for the service.

Do you have Amazon Video?
Hulu?
Netflix?

It's a subscription service. Not a charity. You're literally going at people over the idea of using a pro consumer service, and that's the real joke here.

thorstein963d ago

When records were sold, they were eventually replaced by tapes, which cost less to manufacture, but more to buy. Then CDs came along and were cheaper to manufacture, but cost more at retail. Digital, of course, is the cheapest yet, but billion dollar corporations want to charge the same.

And no, that money is not going to the person sitting in the chair actually making the game.

It is pure and utter greed from people who don't need any more money.

InUrFoxHole963d ago

Lol calm down Bobby. You crapped on thus franchise.

"Many have also noted how the multiplayer in several of these titles is either dead or filled with hackers, meaning players are paying a hefty sum for a short campaign and potentially some zombie modes."

With these clear truths the decades older COD games should be permanently 19.99 regular price and sale prices 7.99 minimum

autobotdan964d ago

Typo sale prices 2.99 minimum and 9.99 maximum. Older COD tiles seven years old or older should never be over 20 dollars regular price

senorfartcushion964d ago

I have paid less than 3 dollars for some AAA PS4 games, old 360 CoD games should not be $20

FanboysKiller964d ago

Any fps game runs by the quirk engine follows this logic
Eat
Sleep
Die instantly
Repeat
As if the main purpose of the game more of "repeat" than the actual gameplay experience , any noob in this game will tell you his mind stucked in repeating the sequence number of deaths than the gameplay itself , what a complete pile of #.

EvertonFC964d ago

It's why I don't play cod anymore, my 45yr old hands can't compete with these kids 😂 🤣
1 kill to every 10 deaths is not fun

John_McClane964d ago

Don't let that stop you if you enjoy the game, it's actually pretty good for hand/eye coordination.

lipton101963d ago

Try Escape from Tarkov. It forces you to slow down and think. I’m not a fan of the ADD speed of CoD

Father__Merrin964d ago

All the back compat titles are cheap listing when you scroll through them u till you come to black ops it's a complete rip off

Rhythmattic964d ago (Edited 964d ago )

Well... Don't buy it..... Is it really that hard to comprehend?
Everything else you choose to purchase with your hard earned cash , so should games be held to the same reasoning....
Just don't give em the cash....

Entitlement that's bizarre, from the publisher and from the consumer.... Thats pretty fkd up if you think about it...

GhostofHorizon964d ago

It's hilarious that some people don't see this as an option.

MadLad963d ago

Bananas now cost $30 a pound. There's no good reason for it, but if you want bananas, there you go.

You don't have to buy them.

It's about their constant greed when handling the franchise. Nobody has to buy anything, but when a company doesn't follow corporate norms when selling their product; overpricing their old wares just because they can, the consumer is allowed to call that out.

GhostofHorizon963d ago

Consumer can call them out, but I think they are going about it the wrong way.

The reason they get away with everything they do is simply because they can. They can charge $20 for a skin pack because people will gladly buy it. There is plenty of competition for FPS games, it's not like it's a niche market.

I know it's easier to blame and demand better from Activision than people that keep buying these overpriced items. If they weren't being bought, Activision would lower the price though. People like to pretend to take the high road but wouldn't you rather sell the banana for $30 than $3 if people are willing to buy it?

franwex963d ago

@therealtedcruz

I think there’s a virus destroying the banana and may even go extinct. So maybe that’s why.

I think it’s happen before too.

MadLad963d ago

A small subset buys those skins and whatnot. Most players don't. The "whale" mindset is pretty accurate across the board, where there's a small handful who buy a lot, and most who don't buy any. Either way, that means they're imposed on the majority either way.

That's different from overpricing your game though. Activision easily makes their money off every release, then milks it until the next release, then throws it away. They never put significant sales on even a release from several cycles ago. Whether it sells or not.

And I mean, yeah; if I were a business, I'd probably want to make as much money as possible.
But I'm not a business; I'm a consumer, thus I find many businesses to be complete assholes.

Rhythmattic958d ago

And people are still blaming the high prices but suggest they're still wiling to buy it... Not too smart are you peoples....

Its a non regulated pricing structure, sure , many play by the status-quo , but to actually complain by complaining, instead of standing your ground and not buying it, by buying it , you are the reason its happening....

Idiots, Idiots everywhere.... What? So those that are complaining don't want to pay the money, but cant do without it?

FFS. Entitlement level 5000...
Drink some cement and harden the Fk up!

+ Show (2) more repliesLast reply 958d ago
Sitdown964d ago

The article and title isn't saying that people are buying it, its simply saying that they are calling them out for greed. I guess you had a problem with people calling out Microsoft for trying to increase the price of Live, and don't understand how voicing concern led to them backing away from the decision.

Teflon02963d ago

People need to put that energy into Nintendo's Pricing over Activisions tbh. They're focused on the wrong things

Rhythmattic958d ago (Edited 958d ago )

Greed? Ok... Dont buy it and prove that by being greedy , they got it wrong... Not that hard to understand is it?
To Add... I haven't bought Cod since MW2.... Because of these exact practices.... Fact.
