Melissa McCarthy to 'Ghostbusters' Haters: 'I Hope They Find a Friend'

EW

Melissa McCarthy and her Ghostbusters castmates have heard all the horrible things, including the misogynist comments, fans have made about the film. To the harshest of her dissenters, she has a few words of her own.

dauntingpixel2882d ago (Edited 2882d ago )

shut up melissa. your acting is about as transparent as a greasy paper bag from a fast food restaurant. fans wanted another movie in the franchise but not like this.

freshslicepizza2881d ago

i am also getting tired of her acting. i saw that spy movie and it was terrible and this one doesn't look much better.

Hold_It2880d ago (Edited 2880d ago )

@moldy

Agreed. She looks a groundhog, and her only "acting" is to be the "comic relief" fat person in everything she's in. I think she needs to find a new career tbh.

hay2880d ago

So, these shallow people are responsible for rebooting one of the most entertaining stories in cinema? Can't wait to uncover those layers upon layers of pure comedy genius. Oh, wait.

MagicBeanz2880d ago

But see your type of asinine comment is what garnered her response, you want to say the movie looks bad that's fine but you go and make a childish personal attack and expect people to just accept it, doesn't work that way. People have been saying incredibly cruel stuff about her and her movies, why do they feel the need to do that, I realize the internet is a safe place for you to act like and asshole but really its not necessary, the movie doesn't interest you then dont go see it simple as that.

dauntingpixel2880d ago

i didn't attack her. i said her acting is crap. that's not an attack it's a fact. and get outta her with "safe place" garbage. i'd happily say that to her face. it's no like i was calling her names, making comments about her weight or anything else of that nature.

-Foxtrot2881d ago

Whaaa

We have friends, we just don't like the reboot. Kind of a shit, immature comeback to be honest.

Hold_It2880d ago

@Foxtrot

For once, I agree with you.

Bimkoblerutso2880d ago

Ironically, all my friends think the new Ghostbusters looks just as crap as I do...

Germany72880d ago

Exactly Foxtrot, we are friends and we also hate this shitty reboot.

Hold_It2879d ago

@Ratchet
Exactly. This movie was made by a bunch of sexist bastards. Ghostbusters was never about disparaging women, it was about a bunch of dudes who got together to stop Ghosts with their crazy beam guns, and not letting the streams cross. Apparently Hollywood has taken it upon themselves to womanize these "reboots", because rather than coming up with an original idea or making a new film, they're just going to reboot something with an all female cast to fight those evil men.

uncharted562880d ago

Shit comments from her and half the people hating on this movie for being band wagoners and well sexist bast***ds. A shit show all around imo.

considering the trailer has almost a million dislikes then that's a lot of people without friends.

spicelicka2880d ago

They should all just become friends with each other, then each will have a million friends.

rdgneoz32880d ago

I hit dislike at the start of the trailer when it says "Four scientists saved New York"... Winston wasn't a scientist in the original movies. He was originally in the original draft, but they decided to have him not be one so that the others would explain everything to the audience in layman's terms. The crap that came later in the trailer didn't help either.

MagicBeanz2880d ago

That has a lot more to do with the the internet hate club then anything else. The super cool hipsters literally hate everything these days.

annoyedgamer2880d ago (Edited 2880d ago )

You're an ugly untalented slob of an actress whose skills could put a plank of would to shame.

Sincerely, A Misogynist

MagicBeanz2880d ago

Well at least you got right to the point and didn't try to hide the fact you're an a-hole.

Porcelain_Chicken2880d ago (Edited 2880d ago )

The misogynist comments go a bit far and are almost laughable but that's not to say there aren't genuine complaints. I don't care if the leads are women, men or puppies, It just has to work and it has to be funny. A "Ghostbusters" level of funny. The trailers for these movies look incredibly slapstick and have a strong 'been there done that' vibe. The original Ghostbusters movie has humor that still holds up today, that's a testament to how good a movie it was. It has nothing to do with the fact that the main cast had testies.

Aldous_Snow2880d ago (Edited 2880d ago )

I'm sure Melissa has a fine pair of testies..

Kidding aside, I thought the fuss was entirely about them being women? Unfunny women, but still women.

Porcelain_Chicken2880d ago (Edited 2880d ago )

Lol!

Well for some people sure, it's entirely misogyny. I do think Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon have the capacity to be funny. I just don't see it here.That's the biggest concern for me. I'm still gonna see it and give it a fair shot like I do with all movies. So we shall see!

Cueil2880d ago

stop calling it misogyny it's not... just because you hate a few women doesn't make you a misogynist you have to hate women in general to earn that label... jebus... you'd think that people wouldn't want to water down such a horrible word

freshslicepizza2880d ago

nothing about them being women, it just looks bad. the actors, namely melissa since she should have her picks more decent roles, seems to have signed on just for the money. i think she could be a good actor but has fallen into the adam sandler role of crappy movies that seem to be mostly the same slapstick humor.

Porcelain_Chicken2880d ago

@Cueil

Was that directed at me? I didn't say everyone was a misogynist. Hence for my use of the word "some people". Mostly a loud bunch on the Internet. If you don't like a particular actress in this movie or the entire cast for that matter then that's perfectly fine. I personally know people that have said this movie NEEDED an all male cast, those are the people I'm talking about.
