I always wondered what was up with Chloe not being in Uncharted 4. Looks like I'll finally get my answer. Maybe we'll even see the likes of Cutter as well.

-Foxtrot2698d ago

Hopefully because if it's just Nadine it'll be boring

She had her time in Uncharted 4 and her story ended I don't have a bloody clue why he would bring her back. Should have been Sully, Chloe and Cutter....or Sully and Elena after they left the Hotel in Uncharted 4.

bouzebbal2698d ago

Looked insane.. I was sure it was TLOU2.. The camera behind the character was deceiving. Amazing stuff it's unbelievable

medman2698d ago

Nadine was a great character and I'm thrilled to see more of her.....I'm far from alone in that sentiment.

G20WLY2698d ago

Whether Nadine's in it or not is irrelevant to me; they have my money. I've never trusted a developer to this degree, but ND have never let me down yet.

Kingthrash3602698d ago

Bouz...
My thoughts exactly. ..until the music kicked in...then I was like...uncharted. ....then when she climbed and grunted I was like lara?....before long I concluded that ND made a lara croft game lol ...this is a great idea...uncharted with a female lead (leads) is gunna be great to play. This was far better than e3 imo.

Silly gameAr2698d ago (Edited 2698d ago )

Why would it be boring? There's really very little known about her backstory and I would be interested if it was standalone DLC featuring only her. I thought she was awesome.

bluefox7552698d ago (Edited 2698d ago )

I agree, I thought she was a bit of a one-note character that fell kinda flat. Chloe was a far more interesting character. Would have much rather had Chloe and Cutter. That being said, it's still Uncharted, so obviously I'm still gonna play it.

Soc52698d ago (Edited 2698d ago )

Man, it seems like you second guess everything Naughty Dog does, it sounds like you have a lot of ideas and think that yours are pretty much the way things should be. Why don't you apply for a job there and see if you match up with triple A level storytellers and writers and you can finally tell them why Sam should have been the bad guy in Uncharted 4, and then you can rip the script out of their hands, point at them all and say, "Look I know you are all one of the most decorated and successful gaming developers ever, but you suck at writing and I Foxtrot am here to show you how it's done and set things straight!"
:-)

trooper_2697d ago (Edited 2697d ago )

Why are you such a debby downer? That's *YOUR* opinion. Don't pass it off as fact.

generic-user-name2697d ago

You're already writing it off without even playing it. When it does release, remind me to ignore your prejudiced opinion on it.

Pintheshadows2697d ago

Foxtrot really is the Wesley Crusher of N4G.

DragonKnight2697d ago

First

"Nadine was a great character and I'm thrilled to see more of her.....I'm far from alone in that sentiment."

Nadine sucked. She was a character deliberately created to pander and nothing about her was good. Her personality sucked, her plot armor sucked, and her general abilities as a leader sucked.

Second

This Uncharted game was the first one I played. I played a demo for the first game and didn't care for it so I skipped the series until I saw enough of UC4 to convince me to try it out. The game was boring. I have had no reason to replay it after I finished the game, and using the game's second worst character (Rafe is only slightly worse) as the focus of DLC is a terrible decision.

The absolute dogmatic, religious defense of Naughty Dog is pathetic and disgusting. Naughty Dog are a business. A development company looking to make money. They care about their ideas and theirs alone and they ARE NOT PERFECT. No developer is. And to sit there and dogpile on someone who made a tame criticism, to be unable to criticize them yourselves, is exactly what's killing this industry in terms of consumer rights and satisfaction.

Criticizing Naughty Dog or Uncharted 4 will not make your individual enjoyment suddenly vanish. If you like the game, great. Others don't and they have the right to say why just as much as you do to say why you do like the game. Stop riding Naughty Dog for 5 seconds and see the mistakes they have made. You only get better by acknowledging mistakes and improving upon them, and sometimes you need others to show you the mistakes you made. Nadine is a mistake, but Neil is a pandering, pusillanimous, unapologetic SJW so of course he'll throw in a mistake character as the focus of DLC.

scark922697d ago

I am with you, I did not enjoy Nadine at all.

Naughty Dog is absolutely on top of their game. They're so great, it's almost becoming a joke for how high our expectations have become for what they will deliver next. The Last of Us Part II? That game just sucked the oxygen out of the room....I imagine the story and the brutality in store with that one will be jaw-dropping, tear jerking, and soul crushing. I love it.

joethetimelord2698d ago

They even went on record saying they'd only consider a sequel if they had a good story in mind. It's a great mentality to have.

Still want Unkarted though.

Benchm4rk2698d ago

Need advice from ND fans. I've never played any ND games. Picking up a PS4 Pro after Xmas and getting Uncharteds and TLOU. Should I play through Uncharted 1 to 3 before 4 or just catch up on the story from videos on the net and jump straight into 4?

medman2698d ago

As you're getting them all, play the Uncharted's in order...they build on each other, and the story and characters will flow much better if you do it that way. If I were you, I would save TLOU for last...it's my personal favorite, but depending on what style of gameplay you like you may not feel the same, but for me it's an absolute masterpiece. Grounded difficulty is the way to go in TLOU, if possible on your first run through (I don't remember if it's accessible initially). It's such a harrowing experience, but well worth it.

Soc52698d ago

It makes sense to play them from first to last but to do so in a short amount of time will make you tire of the similar feel and gameplay, so by the time you get to uncharted 4 it might not have the same impact. I say you play 2 and then jump to 4, or just start with 4.

rainslacker2698d ago

I'd say play them all in order. Not really necessary to appreciate the story, but there are some nice little feelings that come by knowing what happened in the prior games. 4th game is less connected in the overall story, but still has some of those moments, and despite some retconning it makes you appreciate UC4 story more if you've come to appreciate the characters. Plus, the game play gets better with each game, so going from the best to not as good(although still great) can raise expectations.

Benchm4rk2697d ago

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I will play through the first 3 Uncharteds before 4 and I'll save TLOU for last

WelkinCole2697d ago (Edited 2697d ago )

That is pretty tough since most of us played each game when they came out so there was less fatigue as we had a lot of time in between the games.

If you play each games in succession which is recommended you will no doubt though get fatigue where you will feel like just finishing each game just to get to the next and you will not enjoy it as much.

So if you could. I recommend playing a different game in between the Uncharted games IF you feel fatigue and don't want to continue to the next and need a break. If however you want to jump to the next right after because you really want to then do so.

In terms of overall feel 1,2,3 are very much alike. U4 is a bit different which is why I liked it very much despite others that said it didn't feel like an Uncharted which is actually a bit true and why I like it so much because it didn't feel like another typical Unchrated. U4 is actually a bit of TLOU where scale was dialed back a bit and more introspective. Might actually be a good idea to play TLOU before U4 to break things up.

Overall they are all great games and you will have a blast. Enjoy

Benchm4rk2697d ago (Edited 2697d ago )

@Welkin

Thanks mate I might just do that. I've waited this long to play them so I don't see the need to try and rush through them all. Plus I do have alot of other games that still need finishing.

MatrixxGT2697d ago

I envy you. I wish I could play TLOU for the first time again. That feeling was just pure ecstasy.

Anyways pick up the Uncharted collection and then play 4. Keep in mind that the first Uncharted will feel a little dated and don't judge the series based on that. When you get to Uncharted 2 you will see how Uncharted became what it is today.

Then play TLOU.

DO NOT click on this website. They are CLICK BAITERS. I know this is normal news, but this site is known for releasing rushed reviews before they're allowed too. You can't trust this site. DO NOT CLICK they are click baiters.

MatrixxGT2697d ago

This site is horrendous. There was maybe 3 paragraphs of news and 20 ads in between each one about retarded celebrities and male enhancement secrets.

Uhg, I'm sorry but if you need money that bad from ads to run your site just go get a day job.

Skankinruby2698d ago

This could be a brilliant way to keep the franchise alive. I never thought Chloe made much sense as a main character but if they take that opening to create a continuing spinoff she just might have been an excellent addition to the series. Either way I trust naughty dog.

Redx1652698d ago

The franchise needs to end before it becomes another stale one. Give it 10-15 years and reboot it.

Silly gameAr2698d ago (Edited 2698d ago )

Don't like, don't play. Only thing stale here is your crusade to crap on the DLC because it features women.

Redx1652698d ago

Funny how people dislike it. You guys want Uncharted to turn into Halo? With different developers making the game? Its going to be bad...

DialgaMarine2698d ago

This is a single player add-on, just like TLoU: Left Behind. After this comes out, we're not going to hear about Uncharted for a good while, and it certainly won't become an annual release game like Halo. I don't how Uncharted can even remotely be compared to Halo, when it's only seen 5 titles over the course of 9 years, the last of which came out almost 4 years after the previous one. Trust me. Uncharted is not "stale" with this announcement.

trooper_2697d ago (Edited 2697d ago )

...Are you a gamer or a whiny complainer? Geesh, get over yourself. In my day, people played GAMES, not complained about feminism or whatever nonsense you're complaining about now.

I think she could be a very strong character for Uncharted, we'll see soon.

Because the recent Tomb Raider games haven’t been that good, so inject Lara into Uncharted and boom good “Tomb Raider” game. Can’t fault them. *shrugs*

Naughty Dog Is Right To Leave Uncharted Behind

Naughty Dog is changing. It’s about time, but part of fans will miss what the studio has become over the past fifteen years as a pioneer of cinematic blockbusters lined with prestige storytelling that the entire medium now tries to emulate. It changed everything. But now, it is both leaving Uncharted behind and has no plans for The Last of Us Part 3 unless the narrative it aims to deliver is absolutely necessary.

This is the right move, and the selfless one from a studio that could have milked both these properties until there was nothing left.

Yep . Another studio can make it if needed . If Sony wants to do it or not who knows ?

Cikatriz_ESP448d ago

Uncharted 4 is by far the worst in the series, but I fear Naughty Dog is incapable of redeeming the franchise with another entry. Amy Hennig is gone and Neil Druckmann has more than proven he's not a storyteller.

Kassanova07448d ago

A classic series for the ages.
