Like I said, its not the REAL Resident Evil game I wanted. I figured it sucks. Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets Outlast.

Who has faith in Capcom these days? I mean... really. Their last game of any worth was Dragon's Dogma from what... 5 years ago?

We all just saw Umbrella Corps not long ago, which was internally developed. That should set off plenty of alarms.

Lots of people on here plugging their ears and covering their eyes at reviews that bash what is sure to be a flop of a game. There isn't one original idea in this turd.

Time to just accept it, and demand better from Capcom. If they are even capable of better these days.

Nothing about VR experience? I hear it's much more intense with VR. Also the gripe about the enemies sounds like a glitch that can be patched. What concerns me is the nemesis like character I hope it's not as bad as this reviewer makes it seem.

Well, I've seen a couple other reviews on N4G that were 9's, so guess we'll have to see. Like any game, it's a matter of taste.

Eh, his negative points are mostly subjective, as far as I can tell. A Nemesis-like enemy gets too repetitive? That's a good thing, IMO. An enemy that stalks you doesn't need a unique encounter every time. The story gets bad towards the end? I've seen that complaint so many times and most of the time I disagree. The only legit complaint he has is the enemy AI, but even that can be explained by a few bad encounters or some scripting problem that could get fixed with a Day One patch. And even with that, a 7.5 is still a good score. I don't know why people are freaking out over this.

its full potential is not met due to capcoms caution for the return of the old formula. and based on how much they assumed to sell, its pretty obvious. i finished this game yesterday, i can easily say this is a true resident evil game. more so than the shitty overrated re4 or even mikami can ever dream of. the morons that finish the game in 10 hours are the resi evil 4 players that think this is resi 4, with its bland, empty environments to just run through. cant count the amount of times i had to stop and look around a room, marvelling at the insane attention to detail. this is resi REMAKE alright, this reviewer can piss off back to resi4 then. ill stick with the real RE.

I really enjoyed the demo, already pre ordered. It sounds better than the recent RE games so that's a good sign for me.

That's pretty disappointing but expected from all the info that was going around before the reviews hit. I wasn't impressed with the direction that Capcom was heading either. Still, may pick it up for the experience.

Read the review. Talk about being rushed. It is obvious this review was hurried out in order to beat all the other reviews waiting on embargo. It is barely a review. More like an early first impressions. The pros/cons includes "The story starts strong with mystery and intrigue but sharply declines after a few hours." Uh.....where was the story ever even mentioned in the review? This thing is a half-ass, poorly edited, poorly written click bait junk piece. I don't care if you bought the game (which isn't for sale yet so...) in order to review it. Do a proper review or don't.

7.5 - A disappointing return?

Not to be too picky but 7.5 usually isn't considered a negative score.

A lot of 3rd party games this gen havent gotten very great reviews.. The witcher 3 and a few others maybe.. Exclusive titles on my PS4 and thats all she wrote..

This game and SFV shows how lazy Capcom can be.

Well, little review... I didn't get the "there is no autosaving, but there are checkpoints", made no sense whatsoever to me.
Good to know it's not shit... Bad to know it's for some reason a First-Person horror game called Resident Evil.
RE is much more then just gameplay elements... it's the aesthetic, the sound, the perspective... Even RE4 was more of a RE then this... And I LOVE RE4, because there is also a stupid kid inside of me who enjoys simple stupidity. But there is also a sucker for something like REmake... And he sure longs for it still...

Only so much you can do at a large place and it's only 10-15hrs so pretty small.

Rent if desperate or wait for a discount.

Apparently a 7.5 is disappointing... this is why most modern review scales suck. If you found the game disappointing, score it appropriately (below a 6), not a good score like a 7.5.

Hell, even IGN had mostly positibe things to say about it and they gave it a 7.7. Games don't have to be 8-10's to be "good" games.

I must admit I've been pretty weary of the first person perspective, and gameplay wise the demo didn't really feel very Resident Evil. That said I'll still give the game a chance and reserve my final judgment until I've actually played through the whole thing. As it stands though, it seems that Resident Evil is now called Revelations. I'm looking forward to the remake of RE2 regardless. I'm still kind of hoping 7 will sell me on its gameplay like 4 did in spite of being different...
