I wonder if this means abortion clinics will begin using these or is it not possible?

luckytrouble2552d ago

There are no abortion clinics. There are simply clinics that offer abortion as an option and generally perform exceptionally few, particularly compared to the utilization of their other services. Prevention is priority when it's an option.

That aside, abortion is performed long before a fetus could be removed from the womb and survive the transition to these biobags. Their goal is using these for babies born premature that still need development time. These are not seen as a feasible means of growing a baby completely outside of a uterus, likely for a multitude of reasons pertaining to unique transmissions from mother to child during time in the uterus and even during birth.

Not to mention it would require consent to medically transition an aborted fetus, and considering the reasons abortion is usually considered, I doubt most women would consent to something like this. That aside, who would take care of these medically grown babies? Removing the mother removes any potential responsible party, and at that point you just have a child who will live their entire life in a broken foster system.
