Yeah man, all those 1st party announcements... Oh wait...

KingKionic 2522d ago

That's for E3 not twitter.

TheUndertaker852522d ago

Yeah, every company should spill their secrets before E3. /s

EatCrow2522d ago

First party games are usually announced at e3.

gangsta_red2521d ago

I was under the impression that MS usually announces their 1st party games at e3?

xPhearR3dx2521d ago

Why are you all you PS4 fans so butt hurt? You guys were running your mouth when the precious little PS4 Pro was announced that I'm willing to bet most of you guys don't even own. So why can't you let the Xbone people have their moment like you had yours?

Because at the end of the day PC is more powerful that both, but of course you'll say that's irrelevant because it doesn't work in your favor.

@kingthrash

Not true....best console experience has to have the best games with replay value and the best 3rd party games. Exclusive blockbusters, price and support will be a factor. Power is going to give you the best experience. It will look sharper. What's power without games and deep multiplayer. People won't buy a pro if all it has is the same games as the ps4 and xbox slim just prettier. They need games to draw people in....and the price needs to be good

TheCommentator2522d ago

I like the XB1 better than the PS4 because MS has the better exclusives for me, it has more exclusives that I want to play, and all the 3rd party games that suit my play style come to XB1 as well. You're right though, MS needs more games to draw more types of people into buying the brand.

Since liking something is entirely subjective though think about this for a minute:

50 flavors of ice cream at an all you can eat buffet doesn't make me hungrier than being offered one good steak. If you like to eat ice cream though, you can choose the buffet. Obviously both choices are right. What I'm saying is some people will choose to eat ice cream and some people will choose to eat steak so, in spite of popular opinion, when it comes to gaming the best place to play is always going to come down to which choices you prefer... not how many choices you have.

BlackTar1872522d ago

So can we all laugh when Scorpio gets exclusives and ms drops the box for a 3rd generation early?

candystop2522d ago

You in paticular were screaming with joy about how 3rd party exclusives looked better on PS4 up until now lmao. Ignoring games like Ryse which clearly had the graphical edge for quite some time and downplaying anything Xbox. Now the tides are turning drastically and you continue to go on scrambling saying silly stuff. Go play your single player only games on that inferior console and laugh about that.

SideNote2522d ago

Can't tell fanboys anything, the Truth hurts on n4g, like Scorpio will be the best place to play third party games, Forza is king of the racers, ps plus is crap and PlayStation 4 does have the best games this generation without a doubt.

rainslacker2522d ago (Edited 2522d ago )

Hopefully they back up that hammer with some nails at E3. Power doesn't mean much without the games, and Spencer won't be showing COD and D2 at E3. Hopefully that new AAA they're showing is impressive, or they have some other stuff in hiding, because if CD3 and SoT are their premiere game exclusives this E3, they're going to fail pretty hard.

Personally, I just want some interesting games to play on my stock X1. Don't care about Scorpio if I don't even have a reason to turn on my current system. Given that Spencer can't actually talk about any games other than how great multi-plats will be on the Scorpio, it's a bit disconcerting that people are so hyped for what they might show at E3. They talk more about the hardware they have than the paltry lineup of games they currently have announced, and that's a really backwards way of handling the gaming community IMO.

Obscure_Observer2521d ago

@rainslacker

Just sell out your Xbox One already! All you do is whine and complain about the Scorpio and how you´re are a sad Xbox One owner. Just be happy with your PS4 and leave the Xbox Community.

You said the Scorpio won´t be getting the best versions of multiplats, specially Destiny 2 and here you are. Hurt because, well, the Pro will not be getting the best version of Destiny 2 like you though.

Welcome to reality!

IamTylerDurden12522d ago

The bs is just astounding. For 4 years we were told that resolution and specs didn't matter and sales were unimportant, but the second Scorpio was announced (18 months prior to release) MS started boasting about all these things. Boasting about specs and resolution when they still had a year and a half to go with being the inferior/weaker console. The message is so convoluted.

2013 "Specs and resolution don't matter".

2013 - present "sales don't matter".

2016 "specs and resolution matter......but only in 18 months".

May 24, 2017 "it's important to have the best console versions of multiplats (even though we currently do not).

Holiday 2017 "specs and resolution have always mattered!".

3hrs after Scorpio releases via Microsoft "Scorpio is the fastest selling console ever (in small print - for a mid gen release only tracking first hr of sales and only tracking North America).

December 2017 via Microsoft "Scorpio sells x million number of consoles it's first month, sales now matter again".

stuna12521d ago

Lol, it's going to be so funny! I wonder if Microsoft purchased a new chalkboard? Because that last one is done.

Kokyu2522d ago

Until its annouced 600-650$ price tag at E3.

QUIMICOMORTAL2522d ago

Oohhhh! where was his hammer the last 4 years? lost with all those x1 exclusives that no one can find this year?

wha, wha

MADGameR2521d ago (Edited 2521d ago )

Whatever helps you sleep at night buddy.... 60Million+ PS4s sold to 0 Scorpios sold...I think the race is over. Get over your dilusion. They will lay the hammer alright...when they announce at E3 that X Box owners now have to pay NOT only $60 for a game, but also an extra just to play Single player. LOL goodluck idiot

@XiNatsuDragnel

You have seen through Digital Foundry. If you missed just go watch.

bluefox7552522d ago

I watched the DF Destiny 2 video, and they said it will likely have the same problem as the Pro and stick to 30fps, because of it's weak CPU.

AZRoboto2521d ago

Yeah, that 30fps 'weak CPU' reason doesn't seem to make sense on the upgraded systems. We have 60fps games at dynamic resolutions like Halo 5 on the current Xbox One; with more power there isn't a good technical reason for them keeping it locked 30 unless their physics engine is tied to the framerate.

Patriot4Life2522d ago

Natsu...If Scorpio blows us away with power and games will you get one?

Gazondaily2522d ago (Edited 2522d ago )

Ha probably not

thekhurg2522d ago

If he has a gaming pc then it's pointless.

XiNatsuDragnel2522d ago

Probably if there's only Xbox only exclusives not Windows/Xbox exclusives

jmetalhead778122522d ago

@Natsu

So, chances are you're not getting one. Yet, you're on almost every article related to Scorpio... weird

All I know is when I pick up my Scorpio day 1, it'll be the most bad ass console on the planet.

XiNatsuDragnel2522d ago (Edited 2522d ago )

Huh who knows let's wait till E3

BlackTar1872522d ago

Jmetal what your describing is the same thing everyone a console is announced for the most part. You got your pro then right cause as is right now it's the most bad ass console around lol. Logic is so fun to throw at you guys.

jmetalhead778122522d ago

@BlackTar187

Yet, here you are mentioning PS4 pro in a Scorpio article. Keep throwing that "logic" around. Insecure much??

IamTylerDurden12521d ago

PS4 has already blown us away with power and games, do u have 1?

The title says "Scorpio running on COD" instead of the other way around. 😁

omarja14052522d ago

To be fair it's kinda true since the Scorpio will only survive on multiplatform games assuming of course it does.

Krysis2522d ago

PlayStation survived just fine for a couple of years on multi platform and remasters... Your point is?

2522d ago
optimus2522d ago

@Omar...To be fair?? Your point had nothing to do with the error in the title (which they now fixed). It originally said the Scorpio was running on COD. call of duty is not a console or a cpu, it's a game...not to mention that your point is pointless anyway, just wait until e3 for your jaw to drop. 😁

arkard2522d ago

A couple years. This has been Xbox's MO for every generation! Heavy exclusives for a few years then nothing until the next generation of Xbox. Buy apparently that's fine, because Xbox gamers would rather play 6 year old games from last generation anyway.

rainslacker2522d ago

I wouldn't say MS relied on heavy exclusives at all this gen. They have a couple big ones during the holidays, then a couple years they had a big one around the start-middle of the year. The launch window had a few decent ones in there. But since then, MS has mostly just promoted games which are mid-tier, which everyone is making to be AAA exclusives(not to knock their quality as they may be good), or games which eventually got cancelled....one of which was so close to release it actually was more of a shock.

MS exclusive output is really low for this gen since the launch. Compared to the OGXbox and certainly the 360's first 4 years, it's almost laughable that more Xbox fans aren't upset with the paltry output from Redmond.

I understand some of them may be anticipating and excited for what games they do have coming, and that's fine, to each their own, but at the same time, being excited for just 2-3 games a year, then only having multi-plats left to look forward to is not what made 360 successful, and that success was what Xbox fans gloated and bragged about last gen. This gen it hardly seems a consideration to them. More power to play those multi-plats won't change any of the above, it'll just give them prettier multi-plats, which apparently is the only real thing they have to gloat and brag about right now.

Former Blizzard President Suggests Players Should Have Option to Tip Developers

Former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra recently suggested an interesting concept that has sparked a debate among gamers - the idea of being able to tip developers after completing a game.

LG_Fox_Brazil5d ago

If I had a 100% way to be sure that this money would go to a fund or a reserve dedicated only to the guys who develop the games, be them designers, artists, programmers and so on, I could think about it.

But we all know that this 'tip' would only end up in a publisher's CEO pocket to buy a new yacht, so, no, I ain't tipping anyone anytime soon on this industry

neutralgamer19924d ago

Exactly these companies were raising money for good causes and gamers were donation and come to find out they are keeping a good chunk of be pie

PapaBop3d ago

Yeah tip your developer, 5% proceeds go to developer, 95% to the publisher or whoever. Isn't tipping for staff not making minimum wage? How about they just pay their developers properly and like you know, give them fair bonuses? Too much to ask from Blizzard these days, Kotick saw to that and is now laughing all the way to the bank.

MrDead4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

It's the t**ts at the top looking at ways to cut devs wages and get the players to tip them like waiting staff, and I'll guarantee a percentage is skimmed and kept by Activision Blizzard. This is 100% for shareholder and CEO playouts.

Popsicle4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

I have to agree with this. On the surface tipping devs sounds like a great idea, but in the end it leads to pay cuts and subsidization of pay. Tips then become an expectation or the devs “can’t make a living.” Lastly, especially in the US, tip culture has gotten out of control, and it serves as an excuse not to properly pay employees. Sounds good but doesn’t end well.

drizzom3d ago

@ Popsicle

I think your right on the nose with how much tipping has become rampant. Instead of it being a relationship directly between the customer and the developer or employee, it now has a middle man ingrained in the system. DoorDash is one example. It ends up becoming a metric where the company can measure 'just how much more money you are willing to part with' before raising the price on the main product.

1Victor4d ago

Uh so they’re trying triple dip or more we buy the game that they’re already withholding/cutting content for dlc we was told that season pass would help the developers thrive we felt for it.
Now on top of all that plus their sales bonus they want tips enough is enough whatever happens to you create/built a good game get a bonus for sales milestones you care about your game and community we reward you with more sales not for doing 3/4 of a game then save the other 1/4 for dlc and passes after

raWfodog4d ago

The 'tip' is me buying your game in the first place.

S2Killinit3d ago

Very well said. If it was possible to send the money to either the developer or some organization for the betterment of gaming, sure. But we all know that will not be the case.

Rynxie3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

No, it would go to those on the top. They will still fire developers, have a bunch of microtransactions, raise prices of games and so on.

So they eventually don't pay their workers and depend on our tips to pay them like the case with waiters!

Deeeeznuuuts4d ago

That kind of practice is only normal in the states, as far as I know anyway, what a backwards system

H94d ago

No it's as well in a every country that wants to amercanize

bloop4d ago

Ireland is literally the first stop across the pond and we don't have a tipping culture. The only establishments here that would expect a tip are the tourist haunts that Americans visit. Other than that, you might tip in a restaurant as a sign of gratitude for great service and waiting staff would be paid a full wage anyway.

Rebel_Scum3d ago

Tipping is not customary iin most countries dude. Get a passport lol.

Jin_Sakai5d ago

Is this a joke? How about the big wigs giving up some of their pay for their hard working developers.

MrBaskerville4d ago

Maybe the CEO could earn his money based on tips.

mastershredder5d ago

good god. The devs are not baristas dude. Total 1% ideals. Fing Chadosaurus.

The Reason Sega Lost The 32-Bit War? The 32X, Says Yosuke Okunari

"The company was unable to focus enough on its main hope"

timeextension.com
ApocalypseShadow9d ago

Nope. Going back to the 32X as the reason Sega lost that generation doesn't go back far enough before the Saturn.

Sega executives need to blame themselves as to why Sega lost that generation. Not Saturn. Not 32X. Not Sega CD. Nope. Executives were the reason why. It wasn't the hardware. Those devices were either dropped early or released to soon resulting in a developer backlash the hurt the game catalog. They really shouldn't have been made at all because they should have planned their next move more carefully. It has nothing to do with the devices. Poor leadership decisions and lack of unity within the company are what happened.

Love how blame is always shifted away from what is the truth. Writing a book placing the blame on the 32X isn't the truth.

solideagle8d ago

I am pretty sure there are documentaries (Youtube) around it which highlights these points. I had Sega Mega drive and NES growing up but that's about it. I didn't even know there was a war going on between these companies but I do remember thinking why I can't play Sonic cartridge on Nintendo or Mario on Sega :D

FinalFantasyFanatic8d ago

I had the Genesis and the Saturn, also had the SNES and 64, I never got a Dreamcast for some reason, but I never saw one in the stores either.
