You think Attack of the clones is better than the last Jedi?? Wha!? Man AOTC was by far the worst movie. Just so awkward and badly written. Last Jedi is up there with empire.

don't completely agree with the list but the thing is after TLJ every star wars movie, even the prequels, look so much better in retrospect.

I agree with most of it. the prequels are underrated and TPM is not a bad film. Honestly I miss George Lucas. He's probably laughing his ass off.

It will be interesting to see how people view the prequels after this disaster that is the Sequel Trilogy. JJ set a solid foundation and Rian shattered it. Can JJ fix it? I'm not optimistic.

@eiffel agreed. and I love it when people start race baiting and pull the race card. it has NOTHING to do with that. these characters are just shoe horned in there (literally the rose/finn subplot is to give them something to do while also lecturing us on the evils of privilege). like i think that's even more racist. if I cared about them, that would be one thing but they give us no reason to invest in these characters other than the color of their skin, not the depth of their character (hint: they're hollow)

Episode I laid an entire foundation for the story and universe. It’s one spot and honestly for me at least the order is always changing because they are all very close together, though I think RoTJ, RoTS, and ESB are a bit above the others. It’s not like I’m taking a shit on the original film.

The one that will always be definite is AOTC is light years beyond VIII. That’s just pathetic

maybe I should have made a disclaimer, but when I do things like this, I only rank the mainline films; I don't think you can compare them with the Saga, it's just a completely different kind of film. That being said, it was really good, way better than the piece of shit we got. On the other hand, I just didn't care for most of the characters except Jyn, but the humor was great and intelligent not like the shitty last jedi. AOTC isn't horrible, uneven pacing, but not horrible pacing. it's just that love story man...but everything else is really good.

I.....No, just no. AotC is the worst of all the Star Wars films (Christmas special aside). The CG, the acting, the fights, the whole damn thing was a let down in almost every way. It is absolutely the worst SW film. I'd rank them from worst to best as....

Great story and pacing. Hit the ground running and only really slowed for the training scenes which was fine because the way they approached the training was interesting. A lot of the twists were completely unexpected which is awesome and the action scenes were a joy to watch. I'm not saying it's perfect, not sure how I sit on the Leia scene. I didn't like the two big new characters, though Laura Dern did an excellent job with her acting. I was also pretty irritated that they brought Phasma back to stand around some more, given a really cool action scene to be written off cementing her as Boba Fett 2.0 as I thought in TFA. Her actress is great too so I feel she was a bit robbed. Overall I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next, the gripes I have with the movie aren't enough to tarnish it. I know there is a vocal minority but I've seen pretty positive reception and most haters give is "they didn't stick to the formula" which is ironically why they hated TFA too.

Interesting. Pacing was the reason I didn't like this film. I didn't much care for Rose or Hondo at all, and I felt that they should have just let Finn fade into the background ala Jar-Jar (not saying he was like jar jar at all, just that they really had nothing to do with him in the film except off phasma; the Casino planet was wasted filler IMO). Everything with Ben, Snoke, Rey, and Luke was perfect. Mark Hamill better at least be nominated for an Oscar TBH. I still think Rey's parentage hasn't truly been answered although like there were some stuff alluded to...there's been so MUCH alluded to in VII and VIII though, it feels like IX will be too much of an information dump. Idk. Like snoke pretty much said that Rey is the force's reaction (he says darkness rises, and light to match it or something like that). He then says he thought it would be Luke, but he was wrong and that it was Rey. So I think she's like Anakin. Also the mirror scene she hears her mother, but the silhouettes of her parents merge into one person. I took that as she just has a mom but was born of the force.

Idk, that would be the only thing that would really satisfy me and it would explain rey's connection to the island, to ben, her power with the force, everything. I guess though we'll just have to see.

I'm going to see it again, not sure when, but, I just feel like there's too much wrong with the film just on an executional level.

Agreed, loved tlj, it's one of the best. And doubly agreed on 2 being the worst.

My list is something like this:
#1: empire/tlj
#2: empire/tlj
#3: Rogue One
#4 : revenge
#5: New Hope
#6: TFA
#7: ROTJ
#8: Phantom
#9: AOTC

Going to see TLJ again this week. Always see them numerous times in cinema.

I'm in the camp where this may be up there in terms of how "bad" it is when compared to the prequels.

My biggest Gripe with the film is Luke Skywalker.

Of all the the things this film could have messed up on it had to be Luke. His personality is so drastically different, and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense why it is like that, because even before Ben solo doing what he did Luke did questionable things himself.

And to even argue that the movie explains it and it's reasonable for him to be like that, even Mark himself disliked this change

"Main" villain, supreme leader snoke was some mysterious character. People wanted to learn more about him, knowing that he was this all powerful being. Literally kill him off with no back story as to who he is, how he got so much support, ECT ECT.

They copped out with Rey backstory by literally making her truly a nobody. She didn't need to be the child of a famous character, but nor did they have to go the route they did

This is guy who had his family burnt alive, a mentor killed in front of him, his friends imprisoned, tortured, and even sold off, and then found out the one person who he wanted to destroy was his father (after he cut his hand to). Yes, he learned his father, who aided in the destruction of many planets, killing billions of life, still had a glimmer of hope buried in him, enough to make him decide that he was worth saving at the end.

After all that, he has a few visions of Ben and tries to kill him in his sleep????

This one a small one, but bugged me to. The ships hyperdriving to destroy fleets. It was cheap and felt it was only added in on the sole purpose of looking cool. Suddenly this is a thing that is possible? Why not make droids fly the ship and auto pilot to do this??
