5 Playstation Exclusives That Should Come To Xbox One

James writes - "The battle between Xbox One and PS4 is a big one, but that doesn't mean the line can't be crossed every now and then. With that in mind, what Playstation exclusives would we love to see readily available on Xbox One?"

As a fan of xbox I would say no. But... I wouldn't be opposed to xbox getting some more original games instead.

Skull5212188d ago

Owning both consoles I can safely say Bloodborne is the only game Xbox owners are really missing out on.

Shiken2188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

As someone who owns all 3 consoles, XBox gamers are missing out on a lot on the playstation side alone.

However, if you want those games, get a PS4 instead. The fact that these articles exist is why it is so pointless to even bother with XBox anymore. They should be offering a decent exclusive lineup of their own, not leaving fans wishkng they had more.

solidossnakos2188d ago

@Skull521
As a PC player first, non of that MasterRace shit
Owning both consoles and I say not only Bloodborne.
HZD, GoW, Nioh, Uncharted 4 ....
And Ps4 fan should play FH3, Ori and the Blind Forest, Cuphead, Sunset Overdrive.

mikeslemonade2188d ago

the xbox should get no exclusives from sony. and sony should get no exclusives from the xbox. We need more exclusives and less multiplats.

conanlifts2188d ago

@skull521 "Owning both consoles I can safely say Bloodborne is the only game Xbox owners are really missing out on."

It depends on tastes, I never managed to enjoy Bloodborne despite spending hours playing it. I did understand the appeal though. For me Until Dawn was a worthy reason to buy a PS4. Such a good game.

ASBO-52188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

@Skull521
holy hell man, that comment reeks of "I really don't have both but wanna sound cool" syndrome. You're just embarrassing yourself with comments like that because anyone who ACTUALLY had both knows how stupid your statement is

mervin432188d ago

Hahahahahaha. Just no.

I would imagine God of War is killing the Xbox brass atm. They tried to buy a similar franchise by paying Crytek to build Ryse, but that failed. Then, Phil goes on a tirade against sp games and Xbox supports a massive GaaS/mp initiative only to see its newest poster child drowning in a Sea Of Controversy. Meanwhile, God of War releases to mass critical praise and more than likely the 2018 consensus GotY.

It further proves that perhaps Microsoft miscalculated the market for story driven games when HZD, Uncharted 4, and God of War are all likely to hit 10 million units sold (lifetime) respectively.

darthv722188d ago

Ryse is a good game though. Not perfect but it is fun. MS should have damned their pride and greenlit a sequel that could have fixed many issues and become a better game.

ScootaKuH2188d ago

Microsoft seem to be making many miscalculations this generation...

mcstorm2188d ago

I see what your saying but name a Xbox story driven game that has sold well? The Xbox market is about different to Sony's and the same with Nintendo's. Microsoft do need games like this I agree but I also think Microsoft need to look at more MP games to add onto what they had. Look at fable legends, project spark both of these has potential to do well but we're dropped. I think sea of theves is a green light for more development to more copo my games as this is what the Xbox is really about.

FPS_D3TH2188d ago

I feel god of war is a slap in the face to everything Xbox has been against and for lately. From being against single player games to being for games as service. God of war is the anti thesis to their vision and I’m glad it’s selling as much as it is. I’m personally still going through backlog before I pick it up, but it looks like it’ll be amazing and awesome once I get my hands on it.

rainslacker2188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

mcstorm makes a good point. As much as I would like to see more games of GOW caliber on Xbox, the truth is, outside their staples, most new games from them aren't doing exceptionally well. Some do passably well.

And that was what Phil was really referring to when he was talking about SP games. The financials are tricky for MS, because some types of games just don't do overly well on the platform. The financials aren't as tricky for some other companies or publishers, because they have a track record of making games which do well.

I don't know if this is entirely MS fault, because they did produce Ryse and QB, which should have done well if the customer base was there. Neither game was actually bad....Ryse being a bit better than QB. Ryse may have been a product of the launch sales. QB was a product of less than stellar reviews. It's not that the game didn't return a profit, it's that they didn't return as much as investors in those kinds of games would like to see. So, for MS at least, it's much easier to get investment capital(or approval within their stock pool) for games which require less resources, and have a higher chance to return more revenue. Less risk, higher reward(maybe)....but very unlikely to actually be a loss.

I don't even think the lower sales for such games is the fault of the hardcore fans either. Because from what I can tell, a lot of them around here, or other gaming forums, will still buy the game. It's more that MS hasn't connected the mainstream crowd for these games as much as Sony has with their own library.

This may be because Sony spent it's entire life building up a rather diverse market of gamers. MS spent their first gen focused mostly on the hardcore, then last gen spent most of it making it the "dudebro" console to increase the younger-mid 20's crowd into buying one...as they were the most likely to keep buying for the indeterminate future. Then they went after the casual. But MS, as a whole has never actually spent any time trying to be a console for almost everyone. At least not with any sustained effort.

darthv722188d ago

@rain, very well stated. I agree with what you say and really believe that may be the reason MS (or more specifically Phil) said what he said about SP games vs MP games. Sony has a history of being SP focused because that is the time in which they started. When SP focused games came first and couch co-op was secondary. MS, on the other hand, was more about MP from the onset but had SP games to get their foot in the door of gamers homes while setting everything up for what would become their biggest gaming investment which is online MP.

People can blame MS for their MP views but would it really be right? I mean if MS truly knew no other way than wanting to be the MP centric platform while the others take on the SP centric role? If people can come to terms with that then maybe we can begin to move away from the comparatives and just simply have a platform that is SP focused and one that is MP focused and one that is mobility focused. At least, that is how I perceive them and that is exactly how I use them. PS4 for SP experiences and XBO for MP experiences and NS for gaming on the go.

Godmars2902188d ago

"I see what your saying but name a Xbox story driven game that has sold well?"

Better to ask name a *good* story driven game on Xbox. Something either with depth and meaning or didn't come off as the leavings of soap opera writer's room.

TheStruggleIsReal2188d ago

@darthv72
"PS4 for SP experiences and XBO for MP experiences...."

This doesn't make any sense from a market perspective and the gaming industry shows that.
MS cant just make MP experiences because Sony is Making SP games, for the simple reasons that the VERY BEST MP Games on the Marker are ALWAYS Multiplats. The MP games MS is making aren't even that good, they are not even the best at making MP games, unlike Sony is the best at making SP games.

So why should a person get an Xbox just for average MP exclusive games when they can get a PS4 and get the very best SP games and the very best MP games that 3rd party developer has to offer?

indysurfn2188d ago

darvth72 your still looking for RYSE to 'Save' xbox one? Still stalking every SWTICH article and trying to be negative and STILL saying Ryse? Really? Ryse? What next project gotham?

2188d ago
jmtstan2188d ago

Ryse is a good game, although I didn't play it on xbox one, since I don't have one, I've only played my crappy 4 year old pc... but still its impressive. I wish they make the sequel.

trooper_2188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

Exactly.

Maybe more should be demanded of Microsoft to create exclusives instead of begging for them.

2188d ago
rainslacker2188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

More people should buy those games on Xbox if they want more of those games to be made. One could say it's a chicken and egg scenario, but Xbox had game like this early on this gen, and they didn't really do exceptionally well. Many SP games don't do well also.

Some people like to argue that a game like UC4 sold to less than 10% of the user base. Well...that less than 10% adds up to 7 million copies sold. That's 420 million in revenue for the parties involved. That's a significant amount of money. Publishers don't care if the game sells to 10% or 100%, they care about the actual numbers, and that's where MS is having the problem with SP financing(apparently since they said it was complicated....by which I feel they mean they have a hard time getting investment for those games). If Halo sells to 20% of the Xbox user base, that's still less copies sold....thus less money.

But in the end, it's the low risk, potentially high rewards that attracts investors, which is why MS is going the route it is. Phil wasn't really wrong in what he said....although he explained it horribly. But what it did prove is that MS seems more risk adverse than the competition.

FGHFGHFGH2188d ago

@rainslacker

rise and quantum break were average games that saw average sales. They are not on the same level as God of War or Uncharted, so they won't sell as much. You can't expect people to buy games they aren't interested in just so they can expect more games.

ImportGamer30042188d ago

totally when both Sony & Nintendo haven't been all talk instead they have been producing results. Heck the Switch sold 17.79 Million consoles in a 13 month period. Not even Xbox One has managed to do those kind of results, and i don't need to speak about PS4. As it is Nintendo is beating out Microsoft and if they don't get their act together they'll be in last place and fast

sizeofyou2188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

@trooper
Or just maybe, around the 'corner', people will vote with their wallets on hardware. It's a shame...personally I think that the X is a great box, but I won't bother with the next gen on MS side if there's no movement on new IPs inbetween times.

rainslacker2187d ago (Edited 2187d ago )

@FGH

I agree that Ryse and QB aren't on par with GOW.

However, Sony didn't start out of the gate this gen with games of that level. They had The Order near the start, and it was an average game, and saw relatively average sales. Not every game is going to be a hit, but with things like Ryse and QB, if they didn't sell well enough, it's actually easy to understand why MS may not see as much benefit to the SP as Sony may see.

And no, I don't expect people to buy games they aren't interested in. I was speaking more generally than being specific to any particular game.

Xbox journalist getting very desperate, lol.

IamTylerDurden12188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

I also think that Bloodborne, Spiderman, and Death Stranding are some of the hardest PS4 exclusives for Xbox to take.

Bloodborne is essentially a From Soft game and widely thought to be the best in a genre that is dominated by PlayStation. Demons Souls, Bloodborne, Nioh are all absent from Xbox.

Spiderman is shaping up to be a huge success for Sony and Insomniac.

IamTylerDurden12188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

*Continued from above*

The sales should obliterate that of Sunset O and just the sheer fact that one of the biggest heroes in history is exclusive to PlayStation. That must sting, imagine if Arkham City was Xbox exclusive?

Death Stranding represents Kojima choosing Sony over Microsoft in some ways. Even if it doesn't, i can see the Xbox faithful feeling that way and i can understand the anger. This is the triumphant return of Kojima as a free man and his game was always going to be one of the most hotly anticipated and wildly intriguing titles in recent history. Even more so after the incredible trailers and concept work. And it's only on PS4...

MarineLineman2188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

If by hard, I assume you mean impossible. All 3 of those IP’s are owned and published by SIE lol

IamTylerDurden12188d ago

I meant those games are hard for Xbox to swallow. I realize they will never be on Xbox.

EdwardNigma5612188d ago

It's actually sad. They should just swallow their pride and by a PS4 instead of wishing for Sony games to come.

5 microsoft exclusives that should come to the PS4

1. Uhhhh I cant think of any.

Maybe Microsoft should make their own exclusives for the Xbox??

Mithan2189d ago

Halo is the only thing I would like to play.

Cmv382189d ago

If I wanted to play halo, I would buy an x box.

Mithan2189d ago

@cmv38 Why would I buy a Xbox for one game?

bluefox7552189d ago

Meh, it's not as good as the old ones.

darthv722188d ago

Don't think of it as buying an xbox for one game as there are technically nine games in the Halo family. Plus you never know... there may be other games that interest a person as well.

This is why I never settle on just one system. I enjoy playing the field and collecting the games.

Gaming_1st2188d ago

@darthv72

Hence why owning a PC, Playstation and a Nintendo system is the only way to go.

darthv722188d ago

@gaming, I am the same way only I replace PC with XBO. Playing the field feels pretty good.

The only XBox exclusive I actually enjoy is Forza Horizon

Forn2189d ago

And you can play it on PC.

Null19802189d ago (Edited 2189d ago )

Yep, I absolutely love Forza Horizon 3 on my PC. Have most all of the XB1 exclusives that are available for PC, but it's the one I've spent the most time with.

PS4/PC right now for me. Switch too eventually.

DarXyde2189d ago

Forza Horizon is pretty great. Difficult to dispute that. I'd throw in Sunset Overdrive as well.

porkChop2189d ago

Forza Horizon and Sunset Overdrive are pretty great games though.

TyrellCorp2188d ago

Those are definitely both solid titles, but If I could’ve got Gears on PlayStation I don’t think I would’ve bought an Xbox this generation

FunAndGun2189d ago

I personally would like Killer Instinct and Sunset Overdrive to play on PS4. Not that it would happen, but I would pick those two if given the chance.

ShadowWolf7122189d ago

SSO would be nice. Dang shame MS managed to still effectively take Insomniac's IP away from them.

Christopher2188d ago

Insomniac can put the sequel wherever they want, but two problems:

1. People want the first game topically before they play a sequel.

2. Spider-Man.

rainslacker2188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

@Chris

I think the biggest problem is that they can't find a publisher.

They seem like they want to make a sequel.

In any case, the game isn't such that one has to play the original to be able to get a sequel.

I doubt Spider-Man would keep them from making a SSoD sequel. Insomniac is one of the largest developers in the world, and have more than one concurrent project at a time.

Spikeantestor2188d ago

I really don't have any interest in an Xbox One but if I DID get one it would be for Killer Instinct, Cuphead, Ori and the Blind Forrest, and Sunset Overdrive.

chaos-emeralds2188d ago

Forza Horizon, Gears of War, Sunset overdrive, pubg, Rare Replay, Killer Instinct, Ori , cuphead to name a few. Actually put sea of thieves in there too because that's actually pretty good fun. It's not home running the exclusives like ps4, but it has its share of gems which most of them can be played with mates, unlike the ps4 home runs.

sprinterboy2188d ago

On a serious note, from a ps4 console only gamer perspective, I would like to play ori, quantum break, gears 4 and Alan wake plus a quick blast with SoT.
other than that, nothing really. I'm actually going to buy a xbox one X when there like £199 for its back catalogue of games and just use game pass for 6mths and binge play the games I like then trade the X in for psvr2

Aceman182188d ago

I played quantum break and it disappointed me, but maybe you would actually enjoy it

Jamaicangmr2188d ago

They have been trying to mimic the success of many Sony exclusives with unsuccessful moves all gen.

Ryse was an attempt to buy their very own God of War-like from franchise.

I'm assuming Project Spark was an attempt to get in on the LBP success.

Seeing how fruitful the Sony+Insomniac relationship was last gen Microsoft signed for Sunset O, and while it was a decent game, it just didn't sell.

Fearful that they had nothing to compete with Uncharted 4 in holiday 2015 Microsoft reportedly made a backroom deal at the last minute for 1 year exclusivity on RotTR for an estimated 80 mil. The thing is, Uncharted 4 got delayed and actually released spring 2016.

Christopher2188d ago

Ryse wasn't an attempt at God of War. In fact it was moved from being a Kinect game to what it was at release.

Project Spark was very different from LBP and failed because it was competing in PC where people already heavily mod games like Arma, tf2, l4d, Skyrim, civilization, etc. To do the same things promised by Spark.

Fist4achin2188d ago

I'm interested in sunset overdrive, quantum break, gears, Halo Wars 2, and cuphead.

Just saying.

Somehow I don't think Sony's top devs need to worry about proving their true mastery. They can make games which go against the best looking PC games, and sometimes outdo PC. That's mastery. Mastery is not just writing to a high level API, using off the shelf game engines, and releasing a more realistic shooter that will make the power users go ooh and ahh. Mastery is making a game that sets standards. Something that Sony's top tier does in spades.

In the mean time, in the PC race, you have Star Citizen being a pinnacle of PC's power, going on how many years now without a release? Truth is, it's easy to make something look good on PC when you use a competent engine. I've seen 2nd year game design students make some breath taking scenes. Just on PC, the dev has to hope that there are enough power users out there with expensive cards to make the case that they're somehow masters, when all they do is brute force a GPU using tools and engines made by others, and their idea of mastery is just having the ability to use better textures and higher res models so they don't have to work as hard at optimization.

OffRoadKing2188d ago

The true mastery is on Playstation where they belong.
