Moyes is the fall guy. He's had no support whatsoever. Team needed heavy investment a few years ago, but Ferguson managed to plough on regardless. Feel sorry for him, can't imagine any manager taking over this team and getting instant success. I hope he is given time.
He did excellently to replace Messi. Scored a really good goal, well played to him. It's not Celtic's intention to put as many players behind the ball as possible, especially at home (where they've now only ever been beaten twice in the CL - both by Barcelona) but Barcelona were just pounding them and they were getting deeper and deeper as a result of that. Still, we had two better chances to score than they did the entire match, shame they never went in. Bring on Ajax.
Might as well stick a remote-controlled car up front.
Why would they be? They haven't come close for a long, long time. If there weren't such pathetic chest-thumping, borderline xenophobic, crazily over-ambitious press campaigns in the lead up to every tournament, the nation would have far more realistic expectations. There's absolutely no shame in simply giving your all and getting as far as you can with the players you have. England need to stop thinking this time it will all be theirs and just get stuck in, see what happens.
Great signing. Really good player.
Tottenham mean business. Not even a gamble either, considering how much they're about to receive for one player.
Do you want to know what is unrealistic? Arsenal ticket prices. Blah blah, another transfer window draws to a close, another 6 or 7 boo hoo Wenger stories.
Celtic sell the spine of their 1st team and I very much doubt we'll see a repeat of last season's heroics. Insanely hard group. If we can steal 3rd place, that would be amazing. At the very least, we wont have to put up with hearing everyone say they're going to beat us easily like we had last season.
Tottenham have been the absolute bosses of the transfer window so far, no messing about whatsoever. This one would have been the icing on the cake, I'm sure this setback won't stop them going for someone else, though. Nice to see Chelsea dabbling :)
One game in and the apologies have already begun. Deary me. Another long, hard season ahead for Arsenal fans, I feel!
Can't compete with Wolfsburg.
I'm sure scraping a top 4 finish will justify yet more tiresome penny-pinching come the end of the season.
With a headline like that, it's hard to click on the link. But you're right!
Yeah, sure, and I'm going to replace my trousers with pelicans.
What a bellend.
I just don't understand why teams like Man U don't ever seem to want to strengthen their team with realistic signing targets. Especially ahead of a title defence season with a brand new manager in charge. They could attracts so many great, young players, not even for crazy money, either. I guess they'll just get Scholes back if they need someone in at short notice. Weird!
Get a haircut.
It's true. But there's no Di Maria hype train (he's a whole year older than Bale - ugh! Old news!) and Madrid have to sign someone to make it look like they're progressing, afterall. Crazy money could go so many other places.
No they don't.
Or, in other words, "make me even richer please, PSG or Monaco!"
