Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hinted at playing a weakened team in Sunday's title clash with Liverpool after seeing Petr Cech and John Terry forced off with injury against Atletico Madrid.
Can't count Jose out of the mind games but their team is weak at the moment with Terry and Cech now added to the list. If they want to do the best they can against Atletico it makes sense to rest the better players for Wednesday. Although it's tough, they have a better chance in the CL than the league.
He has no other choice. The CL is still within their grasp- the league not so much anymore.
It may be mind games.
Just about every team does this in the Prem these days, just because this game is important to Man City doesn't change that fact.
I can guarantee you that City would do the same thing in their shoes.
