Yeah and its causing problems in Ligue 1. Ligue 1 wants Monaco to follow the tax rules that the rest of the league plays by and Monaco doesent want to at all. They've even threatened to join the Serie A if they get taxed.
It's only causing problems because the lfp is greedy , incompetent and corrupt a hell . They never had issue with Monaco's status till it had a new rich russian co owner , and even less when Monaco went to CL finals .
Once in a blue moon that a different team other than Barca or Real will win it, especially nowadays when they have such financial power and other previously great clubs such as Valencia have severely declined.
The only reason Madrid and Barcelona have the financial power is because they sell their own TV rights and people pay big for them.
In the entirely theoretical world where Barcelona don't play in the same league instead in some nothing league, they wouldn't get remotely as much money and I daresay Madrid wouldn't get as much either because El Classico is a big sell and people would care less about watching them.
It would lead to both sides degrading somewhat. It is unlikely to happen however just because of the financial reasons.

Not going to happen. The Spanish league would be pointless without Barca. Madrid would constantly run away with it.
