Why Barcelona should consider selling Messi

The Argentina captain is at odds with the club over a new contract but with the need for renewal urgent around Camp Nou, should the Catalans take the money and run?

The story is too old to be commented.

Well without him they would be nothing.

unless they intend a full overhaul of their current squad (which isnt possible at this time due to the transfer ban) i dont see how selling messi solves anything.

the only reason i see messi leaving barca is
A) the club really needs the money
B) he hardly plays due to injuries and they do well without him
C) messi himself is upset and wants to leave
D) messi wants newer challenges in a different league.

other than that, he will be with Barca.

If he doesn't want to be there then he should be sold, but if I remember correctly there was a time when Ronaldo was "sad" and wasn't celebrating goals, sooo... like I said before, they should do the best they can with what they have now until that ban is over. They are practically forced to use some of their younger players unless they want to run the risk of injuring more players, Jordi is injured, Pique is injured, keep playing Bartra, where's Cuenca? Tello is fast and WANTS to play, same with Montoya, Sergi Roberto is a good midfielder. And I want to see Traore play, his runs and dribbling are brilliant.

Getting a bit tired of all those Barca doom and gloom articles. They aren't firing on all cylinders, big deal. They are only just behind Madrid in the league and I thought they had a very good game on Wednesday. The game was won by a fantastic individual run and goal from Bale. Other than that only the post managed to give Madrid the win, Neymar was so close after some great play.

They have a coach who is little experienced with top clubs, Newells Old Boys don't exactly stack up against the best Europe has to offer. But unlike and like Moyes at Utd, he has gotten some great results but is out of his depth if you ask me. They need a manager who is capable of motivating them to the heights we know they can play at.
