Chelsea got helped by that joke of a referee. PSG could have scored more... just imagine what could have happened if Zlatan was still in there. Very pleasant match with lots of emotions. I dont remember when i last screamed during a match before.. T.Silva's goal was a relief. Now suck it Mou
Well the Ibrahimovic getting sent off may have been a mistake but what about David Luiz who should have been kicked out and Cavani tripping Costa in the box ?
Okay... yes as we all know the official was a complete joke. Ibra did not deserve a red card whatsoever etc etc. But after that oh boy... PSG rose to the occasion never did it look like they were playing a man down. We also get to see that Cavani truly shines playing in his natural position and not second fiddle.
Chelsea played horribly, Costa was lucky not to be sent off and the equalizer / winner from Silva was a thing of beauty. As an OM fan I despise PSG but I realize that their advancement in the competition along with Monaco come next week is massive for Ligue 1.
Costa was a liability the only thing he did all game was that dribble after which there should have been a penalty besides that he gave the ball away and should have been sent off (by Mourinho before most fouls)
And the Prem's embarrassment is complete. BBC in November was talking about an undefeated season. In January, the British media was saying this side could be the 1st Quadruple team. Now what? Tin-potters!
Chelsea played like complete shit, there is no excuse or doubt about it, they deserved to lose, and hes always bashing his own countries league thats quite pathetic if you ask me. On topic, Chelsea need better defense I dont understand why Mou subs Matic for a defender after they score a goal, I didnt like his tactics for the match, you cannot defend after you score with a team like PSG especially with their great attacking abilities.
Sure, when people and the media stop bigging it up as the best league with the best teams. Until then, I'll happily laugh and call out this washed-up league filled with money clubs and totally vacant of world class quality.
The Premier League is sitting well below La Liga and Bundesliga now. I'd take the Italian top sides over it and French league has more to show in Europe this season too, insane!
La Liga > Bundesliga >>>>>>> Prem/Serie A/Ligue 1.
@RGB, honestly what is your crusade about? I never see people calling it the best league anymore. I did years ago, but not anymore. Entertainment-wise though it is the best due to teams like Real, Barca, PSG, Bayern, etc. having a complete strangle hold on their leagues; Atletico last year was a very rare exception, which was great.
And who in the media are calling it the best league? Sky Sports (the PL's biggest friend) has been tearing the quality of the league to shreds for some time now due to English clubs performances in Europe over the last few years.
I think you are talking out your ass. If you aren't, then please post some relatively recent sources backing up what you say to prove us wrong.
"teams like Real, Barca, PSG, Bayern, etc. having a complete strangle hold on their leagues; Atletico last year was a very rare exception, which was great." - Forgetting the fact that 4 teams have won La Liga in the last 10 years just like the Premier League.
PSG don't have a stranglehold, winning two years after getting money isn't uncommon, look at Chelsea! They aren't leading this Ligue at the moment.
Bayern has had that, but only since 2012. Before that it was way more competitive than any major European league.
As for media bias, you don't need to look far, watch Football Focus, ITV Sport, BBC 5 Live. All have massive expectations, high praises then have to backpedal like crazy once the English teams get demolished like yesterday night.
I have to agree with RGB on this. It isn't that the EPL is necessarily bad (far form it) its that the British media is always shocked when a Prem team loses. As if all leagues outside of England kick rocks in empty stadiums. Even Mou said something to the effect of Chelsea's training regiment on Sunday was more rigorous than PSG's match against Lens that weekend. If thats not a superiority complex I dont know what is...
"the British media is always shocked when a Prem team loses" - please give me some sources on that. Sky Sports has been shredding the quality of the leagues top teams for some time now. As for Mourinho, when did he become the compass for the Premier Leagues standard?? he talks crap all the time.
Thanks @Stringerbell, and it seems more strings to my bow. The arrogant makes me sick, so happy for PSG, Blanc and Luiz for shutting up Jose, Chelsea and the laughable media in this country.
Chelsea were outplayed by ten men at home, smh. For a team that is having a commanding lead in the Premier League table that is really bad. Hazard never turns up for the big games. Costa was terrible. Heck, the premier league has been very poor in Europe in recent years. Even with the big money coming in, I still think they'll perform badly mainly because the money will most likely be spent on overpriced and overrated players. Look at City for example, they've spent over a billion dollars and only handful of their players can get into Bayern, Barca or Madrid first eleven. Arsenal has spent money on good players but not enough. Their tactical naivety will cause them to shoot themselves in the foot every single time. Atleast we're finally performing in the big games in England, though.
In the words of Gary Neville, "they just looked lethargic"
Its like every single time they play big games they forget to show up and are just tired or something. I dont know, but its getting ridiculous. I just hope Abramovich doesnt go nuts and sacks Mou.
jeez, the haters come out in force when blood spills huh?
as a chelsea fan in not gonna and have never shitted on another team crashing out of the CL, that includes all the english teams who are already out, that includes arsenal
i swear only English fans will bash English sides in a EUROPEAN tournament
Will people just keep the plastic BS to themselves... I've been a Chelsea fan ever since I started watching football... Success obviously brings more supporters but did not bring everyone.
What a game this was. Even though the referee was a joke. A very bad joke.
WOW WOW WOW! BEST CL GAME OF THE YEAR!
Okay... yes as we all know the official was a complete joke. Ibra did not deserve a red card whatsoever etc etc. But after that oh boy... PSG rose to the occasion never did it look like they were playing a man down. We also get to see that Cavani truly shines playing in his natural position and not second fiddle.

What a game, glad PSG got through and even better, David Luiz shuts up the critics AT Stamford Bridge. Beautiful.
Rentboys crashing out made my night! :D
Great match, even if i hate both teams, i hate PSG even more.
