I've been told that the police in France are specifically targeting England fans. Apparently they tear gassed a quiet pub with England fans in last night and came in, batons swinging (and suspiciously a French street gang showed up amidst the initial chaos as well).
Basically we're being told by the fans who are over there not to believe what the media are saying about hooliganism from Lions fans over there as it's most probably going to be a pack of lies.
The french police dont give you a talking to like they do in england. They see you doing wrong and aggressivly act on it (terrorism being so presend in france in the year or so). The story doing the rounds is that english blocked up a bar from the locals and some russian fans from getting a drink. One thing led to another with alcohol in the mix and then you get riots. The local youths came out cause gangs are very territoral and "no one f **ks up our town unless its us" mentally.
Yeah, because England fans are saints, aren't they. They never cause trouble, ever.
Look, no matter when or where, England supporters have a reputation of being wankers. That's not a slight against them, that's a known fact. You go into other people's countries, disrespect their streets, their culture and the people by being loud mouthed drunks and thugs. The last two occasions England have went to France for a big competition, it was the same old story. Your fans wrecked the place. England fans also came to Ireland back in the 90's, and as soon as Ireland scored, they decided to wreck the stadium, and then got the shit kicked out of them by the police there. Scumbags. Should be banned from the competition and the next.
they should ban both teams for the remainder of the competition.
uefa/fifa needs to make it known that such behavior will not be tolerated.
hooligans can fight and support teams that are kicked out of the tournament all they want.
Not quite sure what's set all this off. There's been very little trouble Internationally for years and years and years!
Just a bunch of uneducated hooligans, don't know how to behave properly.
Causing a pain to other regular people who re there just to enjoy the games.
