World Cup 2010: Punter stakes £413,000 on Germany to beat Spain

A confident German fan has staked a whopping £413,000 (€500,000) on Jogi Low's side to beat Spain tonight at odds of 1.91 (10/11). The monster sum was placed over the telephone with a well known British bookmaker and is reputed to be one of the largest bets ever to be placed on a single World Cup fixture.

The story is too old to be commented.

Someone just punted away £413,000. I'd picked Spain to win this one. Because the last time I bet on Germany, it was Euro 2008.
