Didier Drogba will only be on the bench for Chelsea’s visit to Liverpool this afternoon, while Michael Essien misses out with a toe injury.
Reports suggest that Drogba is suffering with an illness he picked up travelling to the ground, meaning that Daniel Sturridge joins returning captain John Terry as the only changes to the Chelsea team from their midweek Champions League victory over Spartak Moscow.
