Rio Ferdinand Eager To See Carroll, Henderson And Gibbs In Action For England Against France

As England prepare to face France on Wednesday evening, Rio Ferdinand is delighted that Fabio Capello is looking to the future, and giving the country's young talent an opportunity to set up to the international plate.

With the selection of Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson and Kieran Gibbs, the Manchester United defender is happy that new, younger players are been given their chance to impress at international level.

“I think it is fantastic," said the England captain in a press conference on Tuesday. "There is nothing better than seeing a young lad get his first cap and go out there and lap it all up.

The story is too old to be commented.

They have a very good string of youngsters coming through. Problem is so does most countries

It's always the same...England has the brightest youngsters coming through but they don't reach their full potential for their country like Frank Lampard

kulka5057d ago

yes England have great young players but they either are given no chance or the clubs just buy a expierenced foreigner instead of playing the youngster

kulka5058d ago

yup this England from the world cup has no chance of succeding they need youngsters who dream about playing for the country

GJ235058d ago

Much better to see players that love the game rather than the money

kulka5058d ago

yup young players seem to have more pasion and love for the game than the expierenced for them its honour to play for country

karim5057d ago

JT,Rio ferdinand,Gerrard and some others still play for their passion of the game...You can see Terry having tears in his eyes when they crashed out of the WC...that proves he still loves his country same to others
