The Real Reason Di Matteo Was Axed

SunSport can reveal that Chelsea chiefs were aware Di Matteo was thinking of dumping owner Roman Abramovich’s pet signing against Juventus on Tuesday.
They advised the manager not to but the Italian ignored the warning — even though he knew it would cost him his job.

Lol, They really must not want to win anything if they want Torres to keep playing no matter what. At this point even fan/supporters complaints wont bother the Russian owner, he just doesn't give a Fu<k, it seems.

I don't know if Chelsea's situation can be improved some of the best managers in the world have coached there and little by little they've all been sacked. The only way i see Chelsea's situation improving is if Abramovich leaves or he finally wises up and gives his appointed managers more time.

I find it hard to believe that's the real reason he was sacked. Torres goal scoring record this season is up there with the worst, hell even Heskey has scored more goals down under than Torres has recently.

Di Matteo was never the right man for the job anyway. His champions league victory imho was extremely lucky.. Chelsea rode their luck both with Barcelona and Bayern and on a different day, could have lost heavily in both games.

I don't think Rafa is the right man for the job though. From the sounds of it, Chelsea need to bring in someone who can control the players who is both feared and respected, Rafa might deserve some respect based on his past accomplishments but he doesn't have that fear factor to keep those egos, racists, Ashley Cole in check.

Chelsea have had several big name managers that should have had the respect of the players....it didn't matter to said big players though as they know they have an owner who is blinded by past accomplishment and will side with them if they complain enough.
You can pretty much pinpoint precisely when a Chelsea manager has annoyed some of the senior figures in the dressing room, as the players start slacking off on the pitch and results start to suffer.
Torres especially has a direct line to the owner due to being brought in directly BY the owner...it's a pathetic way to run a club that the manager is not free to make decisions on the squad. Torres is a liability, and he's cost a good young manager his job. Lucky in the Champions League? No chance, the man did brilliantly to stifle Barca when down to ten men and attack ruthlessly on the break.
Abramovich hasn't a clue what he's doing. He brought Torres in based on past reputation and the notion that his transfer fee was huge, so he must be good. He's after Pep Guardiola, not because he thinks he'd be a good fit for Chelsea or anything, but because the man did well for Barcelona and was considered a top name in world football. He goes where the buzz is, that's it.

Yep, boo the manager. Always a good way to start winning games.
