MLS: Gavin Wilkinson’s description of his first MLS win at the helm of the Portland Timbers was straight and to the point.
“It’s a lot better than losing; a lot better than tying,” said Wilkinson, who suffered through a seven-game winless streak after taking over for the fired John Spencer before Saturday night’s 2-1 victory over Cascadia rival Vancouver Whitecaps at JELD-WEN Field.
